A disappointing stay
With five days before our stay in Milan, our previous hotel canceled on us so we were asked to accept Hotel Lugano. We are two adults and a 14 month old baby, we traveled with a pram. The entrance to the hotel is not wheel accessible. We had a friendly receptionist on arrival and pleasant check in. The elevator was old, and small but it fit the pram and a suitcase. On entrance to the room, we were hit with the smell of bleach. So we spent the first minutes opening all the windows and blasting the fan in the bathroom. The bleach smell is strong in the stair well too.
The room was small, although comfortable enough. The bathroom is a joke, it is in desperate need of renovating. It was literally uncomfortable to shower and sit on the toilet.
Another issue was the window, there were two doors/ windows that open fully and the only barrier is a very weak glass panel. I pushed against it and the whole thing looked like it would come lose, so we had to deal with the smell of bleach to prevent the risk of our baby pushing through.
The bed was comfortable. Although the hotel was not busy, we asked a second receptionist for an extra blanket, which was not delivered to us. He was quite dismissive. In the morning, the same man was rude and distracted during the check out process. The price we paid was not worth this place, we’d never recommend this to anyone. Unfortunately we were allocated this hotel due to the issue.
