We were a party of six, Mam & Dad (me), 2 kids (6/4) and the in-laws, and this was our fourth year running on the Mijas Costa. Our three previous holidays have been right in the heart of La Cala, just back from the beach on Calle de Reina Fabiola, an absolutely magnificent villa which we loved, but was becoming ever more expensive so we very reluctantly made the decision to try somewhere new in 2015.
The decision to choose this Villa was based on the fact that it is close enough to La Cala that a car isnt necessary. We knew that it was a short walk to the beach at Bombo (excellent) and then a pleasant stroll into La Cala centre, especially now they have built the boardwalk. We knew very little about the immediate area and what it had to offer, like I say, we thought we would just be using the Villa as a base to return to our favourite places from previous holidays. We were wrong, we spent almost all of our holiday in Torre Nueva.
Bonita is the last-but-one villa on a dead end street, so there is no passing people or traffic, in fact we only bumped into the neighbours twice in a week. Its a lovely, peaceful, relaxing setting. The Villa itself is fab, even better in real life than on the photos. As I said earlier, we were a party of six, and it felt very spacious, so much room to sunbathe, heated pool, and when I say heated I really mean heated, which when you have small children is such a bonus, no chattering teeth on this holiday. The weather was so hot we really appreciated the shaded areas underneath the arches, a lovely cool(er) refuge, far better than a brolly.
Inside the Villa is immaculate, spacious, spotless, comfortable yet still retaining a homely feel. The TV worked, which was ideal for the kids to chill and watch CBeebies for a break from the pool. We had absolutely no complaints whatsoever about the internal space at all, but its the outside space that makes this Villa what it is. Ive been in hotels with less space around the pool, throw in the gas barbeque and the fruit trees in the garden, sun from dawn till dusk, peace, quiet (apart from my kids), its just blissful.
A 7-8m walk down Av de Rota brings you to a Supermarket, with superb butcher, also two tremendous restaurants, The Blue Marlin & Las Llaves (see tripadvisor, Mrs&MrC review) and a great little bar, Steves Bar. We ended up in La Cala once, we simply just loved it here, and 100% we will return.
Great Villa, magical holiday, thank you to the Jordans and Rafa
