"We were all very impressed with the place, for a huge property it was exceptionally clean everywhere and filled with everything you need. Bigger with some older style rooms, it gave a great feel for hide and seek. It provided a good base for all of us to hang out together whilst giving some space, great for games and a couple walks in the area. We really enjoyed our cold pond dips followed by warming up in the hot tub. This was already warmed up for us on arrival and lots of wood and starters...

"What can I say about the most amazing property to stay at new year. Catered for everything, even had a Xmas tree. Had fizzy wine, butter, biscuits, bread, jams. Even had a tour by the owner to where to sit on New Year’s Eve on the hillside over looking western. Shame it was only 2 days. "

"11 of us / 3 generations descended on Axbridge to celebrate my mother’s 90th. What a super weekend! Culminating in a wonderful dinner in the formal dining room which was spectacular. We like to cook - and the Kitchen is large and well equipped for big parties. A lovely setting in a lovely village / area. The host was charming and very accommodating. "

"We loved our stay at the house. So well equipped and spacious. We especially loved jumping in the hot tub in the evening and relaxing. Host was quick to respond whem we had an issue (make sure you check the pull out drawer in the top of the dishwasher for cutlery 😆) quite remote but that part of the charm - just don't expect anyone to be able to deliver a take away. Was perfect for our friend group as we could all have our own bedroom. Would definitely stay again."

"West House is a beautiful wing of a main building. It was spacious and beautifully kept, and a delight to stay in. The weather was appalling (storm Darragh) whilst we were there but it was snug, warm and cosy indoors. Well-equipped, clean, it was the perfect location for a pre-Christmas family get-together."

"Bashford Lodge is a truly fantastic property! The lodge is beautiful throughout - kept to a very high standard with excellent spacious accommodation. The absolute star attraction are the stunning views from the lounge and balcony. The lodge is well positioned as a great base to explore the Quantocks and wider Somerset area.
