Probably better suited for smaller parties. We had 6 adults plus the dog. Nice fenced in yard and close to the beach which was the most important part of our stay.
Everything was perfect. The house was awesome. The owner was kind amd even brought us some fresh tomatoes. Could not recommend a better place for a weekend at the beach!
This property was very close to the beach. It had the basic’s available. Not so kid friendly but we made it doable. Owner was very pleasant and communicated throughout the stay.

Short stay
The property owner was very nice a stayed communicating. When I’m renting a place I would rather not be bothered and contact owner as needed. It was clean except tub with a patch hair on drain. 2nd bathroom was small but doable.
We enjoyed our short stay! The host was very kind, helpful and attentive. This old cottage has a lot of charm! It's definitely old though, so there are some understandable characteristics that go along with it. It's in a good location. The neighborhood seems to be in a transitional stage. Love the art district. Close to the beach. Close to the outlet mall. Good restaurants, bars, coffee shops nearby~ within minutes.

Crooked Carriage House
It was close to the wedding venue I was attending, the outlet mall and Blue ChipCasino. The home is old and therefore the foundation is noticeably tilted and leaning. It was difficult to get used to and would not be suitable for someone with balance issues.
We were only in the house for about 25 minutes and decided it was uninhabitable and could not stay. Property description was not at all accurate. It does not meet minimum rental/hotel standards. It is not a vintage charmer. Would recommended against staying at this property.

Adequate for the weekend
Overall, the property was as described online. It is historic and charming, however, I didn't realize my mother would be uncomfortable with the slightly sloping floors, so that was unfortunate. The house was tidy, but I don't think it had been used in a bit because there were spiders and webs in the corners. The property was fenced in and felt safe, but some of the surrounding buildings were in disrepair and made the neighborhood feel a little bit sketchy. Again, probably ok for me, but Mom felt uneasy. Host was very attentive! He met us at the property and showed us everything. He texted once to check on us and I thought that was very kind. Overall, it met our needs for the weekend, but I won't try to bring my mom back there.

Leaves much to be desired
Understanding that we made this reservation just 9 days in advance, by that point there was little to choose from, and that this is an historic house, it left much to be desired in terms of cleanliness and maintenance. We've had over 30 home rental experiences and this is among very few that we would not return to again. The owner was very communicative and pleasant to deal with, and had our stay been longer or one in which we were spending more time in the house, we would have pursued more with him in terms of correcting areas needing attention. While the price was very competitive in terms of other properties in the area, we4 felt it still was overpriced in terms of what we got.

For your safety please do not stay here.
Check in was a tad different than any of our other VRBO stays. We had to text Michael to meet us at the property so that he could unlock the padlock. The property is in a pretty run down area of town, so that might explain the padlock. Michael seemed friendly & personable. He showed us around the property and answered questions we had about the area. Upon arrival, we noticed a strong chemical smell, but thought that it might just be because the property had been closed up. We opened windows, doors & started fans. A few of us left the property for about an hour and and when we returned the members of my family that had stayed at the house were extremely ill from the smell. It was absolutely toxic. It smelled like hardwood floors had been refinished. We text Michael, he eventually responded that it was Pine Sol. I use Pine Sol at my home. This was not Pine Sol. I explained that we had to leave for the safety of our family. We certainly wanted to be fair & offered to pay half.
This is where I get disappointed. Michael seemed to have been friendly upon arrival. However, when we reached out to VRBO to explain that we needed to leave, they said that he would need to cancel the reservation on his end for the reimbursement to take place. He refused. VRBO explained that he was still being pd his half, but in order for reimbursement to take place on my end he needed to cancel stay (from host end). He still refused.
I reached out to him several times w/o response.
