"The rooms were clean and spacious and the kids loved the tub! The addition of a filtering dispenser was a nice touch of convenience for all of us. The western style dishes served at breakfast were not to our taste, though the asian style dishes were delicious. We recognize that tastes are subjective however."

"Great secluded hot spring resort with a very relaxed atmosphere. Everything was great except for the breakfast experience where we had to wait 20 minutes for a seat and didn’t feel relaxed at all. Overall experience was still very positive, nice facilities and great staff, there was even a little fireworks show during our NYE stay."

"The grounds are absolutely spectacular. Incredible, world-class gardens, village charm, and a true cultural experience. The ambiance is incredible. The staff was also amazing. One staff member was a particularly great English speaker, and throughout the day, she would proactively check on us and offer recommendations or help. "Great place for onsen outside usual popular locations. Place gives an upmarket feel and provides good quality. Very impressed with Breakfast buffet and Dinner buffet. Getting here will require a car ride as it is literally in the middle of nowhere. Has a 7-11 (opens till 2200) within 2 mins walk. A 24-H Hi-Life convenient store will require a drive out."

"3rd time staying there. The hotel is very conveniently located. Good food all within walking distance. A 15-min walk to the railway station. It's near a supermarket, cafe, pizza shop, 7-11... The room that I booked had really good views. The staff were very polite and helpful. There were always different main dishes for breakfast. Will definitely book it again."

"I took a taxi from Tonglou Station to the resort, as there’s no public transportation available. I loved the setting—the surroundings were beautiful, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The room was spacious, and the massage pool was incredible, especially after a day of hiking. The spring water left my skin feeling silky smooth. The food was delicious, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. "

"Tried to cancel thru the Expedia virtual service, several times, to no avail. Never stayed, rebooked to another location. When I booked, the location given in Maioli was behind a gas station in centre of town. 24 hours prior to arrival, I verified the address on Google map and it was outside the city, in the hills. Since I am cycling, I wasn't going to launch myself into the Taiwanese hills, after a day of cycling."

"Just had a wonderful stay at Xianal Vacation Chateau (夏內爾渡假民宿). It was just a piece of paradise among the strawberry fields. It's just off the busy Taiwan Route No 3, but the noise level was not a concern due to good sound insulations. It's also a short drive to the town of Dahu for a nice meal. "I seriously think that this villa is overrated. - Not worth the price. Can get a better quality hotel with this price or cheaper. - Felt that pictures shown are rather deceitful. It's not as nice as you see in in the pictures. - No one swims in the small but colorfully lighted swimming pool. - The private 'spa'is not really a spa. It is just a bath tank. "We arrived around 8 pm just as all the surrounding dining options closed, unfortunately. This area of Taichung has a gritty feel, not as welcoming, friendly, safe and clean as other places in Taiwan. (So, maybe more like a large North American city that way?) This hotel is gorgeous, the front doors and lobby are totally unique and special. The rooms are clean, modern, very comfortable, beautifully lit. The washroom is exquisite, especially the shower! Staff go way out of their way for you. A great stay. "
