Good value hotel, which does “exactly what it says on the can”. It’s not trendy, and the room furnishings are old-fashioned; but everything works, the South Beach location is excellent, and the rooms are large, clean, comfortable and quiet. The Viscay provides a comfortable and reliable stay. (And remember to ask the manager for his history lesson about the 1848 revolutions.)
Bear in mind this is a place to sleep rather than a full-service hotel. The front desk isn’t staffed at nights (you get a door key), so if you’re checking-in late you need to communicate your arrival time in advance so that someone is there to meet you.
