Beautiful cabin on the Manistee River
Close to Traverse City, many two track trails, snowmobile trails, many places to launch kayaks or a boat. The cabin has a full kitchen and living room. There is a ring for a fire. Nice deck in the back.

Rustic cabin - very clean!! I just wish the stairs to the lake were operational- although we did know before we couldn’t use them - it would have been nice see more of the lake. Nice stay cute little cabin!
We stayed for four days in July. It is a lovely little cabin. The cabin is easy to find. Our toddler loves the bunk beds, and the table overlooking the river. The hostess is excellent.
Comfy, great location for outdoor recreation, kayaking, hiking, ORV trails.

We stayed 6 nights. We were very satisfied and will stay there again. It was very nice and cozy, close to family and grocery store. We had fun playing the games and watching movies in the evenings.
Quaint little place to stay near Traverse city. The house was clean and well stocked with extra blankets, pillows and movies for a quiet evening. It is right on the river but it’s about a 25ft drop down to the water.
Fishing trip with buddies. Cabin was clean & private. Loved it. Will come back

Decent location for travel to Traverse City
The access to the river was wired shut and very overgrown, so there was no kayaking. The air conditioning was a small square tower type fan, not a real A/C unit so the house was a bit too hot for sleeping.
Just off the beaten track with a super view and amenities
Easy to find and check in. Had everything we needed to have a cozy Spring weekend. Just the right amount of space. No traffic on the short road and easy access to the river, Hodenpyl Dam, and lots of National Forest trails. Short jump to Mesick for groceries and gas was very convenient. Felt very safe and the price fit our family budget nicely. Thank you, KimMe!

Nice and spacious, well stocked.easy to find geographically.
Coffee maker leaked and needs replaced. I washed windows, they were that bad!
We rented the house to stay in during the Buckley Old Engine Show which was only 5 min away. The house itself was cute, with the back porch and living room overlooking the Manistee River. The house has all the essentials and so peaceful! The bedrooms and bathroom are a little outdated but everything was so accessible and clean. Checking in and out was a breeze! So glad we stayed here!
Great location if you want to be away From inner city noise. Awesome back porch and hang out spot. inside the cabin was decent the kitchen was fully equipped to cook the bedrooms were decent noticed a lot of insects in the house I’m guessing due to it being in the woods also has well water so other then that for the price you can’t beat it. I plan on staying again in October.
We were there just for the night after a cold, windy and wet color tour. The property was clean and stocked with unexpected items. I had forgotten butter for breakfast, but there was a suitable alternative in the cupboard. We ended up playing one of the many games and putting a puzzle together.
We stayed only one night on our way to summer camp. 2 adults and 2 kids (11,14). House was very clean and had everything we needed. Easy communication with owner. Quiet area with river views but no access - stairs to river appeared to be in the process of construction so they were blocked off. Close to town for gas/food and canoe/kayak rental. There was no wifi or cable so we watched a DVD and played a board game (they had several to choose from). Price was right and I'd stay again in lieu of a hotel/motel.
Very disappointed that owner charged me an extra $60 to replace approx 12" piece of floor molding that cracked simply by moving the kitchen chair to get up from table - it certainly was not an intentional or careless action that resulted in the damage (I wasn't even sure that it had not been cracked prior to our stay). Owner also accused us of climbing over a wire fence - we are 54 and 57 years old and would never consider such an action especially when the other side of the fence was steep drop off down to the river.

Over night Stay
Overall the property was adequate for our needs. We just stayed overnight . The property was clean and comfortable. A couple of recommendations would be to have one or two additional fans since there is no AC on site. The lighting in the property was somewhat dim and could be improved as we had to fumble around to find lights for rooms. Finally, while there is a fire pit, it was not very inviting. A potential upgrade.
We needed a place close to interlochen for the night, and this fit the bill. Perfect, quiet, secluded little house with a backyard view of the Manistee River.
My daughter left her new stuffed toy behind and it was returned to us at home quickly and with a sweet note on the envelope. Thank you for your kindness and use of your property.
Note: Google maps was off about the location, so I panicked for a minute. But don’t fear. Pay attention to the addresses on the mailboxes and you’ll be fine!!
We stayed a couple of nights in lieu of a hotel. This is a cute, cozy, clean 2 bedroom cabin with a decent sized open kitchen/living room space. It has plenty of space for a small-medium sized group. Towels, bed linens, & blankets are provided as well as several items for cooking (slow cooker, pots/pans, plates, silverware, etc) & cleanup (dish soap, dish cloths, etc). There are many DVDs & board games. The back patio offers a beautiful wooded view overlooking the Manistee River. No access to the river from the patio area (it appears the stairs /railings are in the process of being built)-it would be quite the stair climb down & back up as the cabin sits quite a ways above the river. When in the area, I would stay here again.
