"Okay! We all know that Econo Lodges are NOT 5 Star properties. They never have been, never will be. With that said, the Econo Lodge Smiths Falls is an absolutely GEM!!! First, the staff were amazing. Every single person I dealt with was welcoming, friendly, kind, courteous and helpful! They made my stay so much better!! Second, I travel often, so keeping costs down is important. I understand that the Econo Lodges are mainly old facilities. But the Smith Falls location, even though it was old, was extremely clean and well taken care of. Yes, it showed its age, but did so gracefully. Again, a testament to staff who really care!! Third, OMG my room was HUGE! And it had a balcony facing the river! Which will be even nicer when I go back in the summer!! The bed was super comfortable. Nice size TV. Lots of space, did not feel cramped like some hotels. And endless amounts of hot water, great morning showers!! Finally… and this is extremely important… they had a pancake machine for breakfast!!! EPIC!! Over all, for a hotel that is rated 2ish stars, I give my four day stay a 10/10+. Thank you to the people at the Smiths Falls Econo Lodge for making my travels so incredibly fun and relaxing!!! ✌️&❤️ Ken & Moosie"

"In beautiful little Merrickville at Christmas season for a concert at the Pews! Check in a bit glitchy, but overall wonderful experience. Excellent manager Lorrie resolved glitches and all was well!! Would return in a heartbeat!"

"We arrived just before sunset and we were so happy to find such a beautiful home . Our dog had a blast getting his zoomies out in the back yard and the kids made themselves at home in the kitchen making dinner . Our night took a great turn when my teenager asked to play scrabble ! Rarely happens. The electronics were all turned off voluntarily and we enjoyed the fire, dinner and scrabble . Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. "

"We were very impressed with the property. The owner seems to have thought of all amenities required for a comfortable stay. Very spacious, lots of beds, recommended. Only issue we had was the walls between houses are a bit thin!"

"We loved our stay at the Rideau River Retreat. It was a great place to use as our home base for Ottawa tourism. We also enjoyed Kemptville itself. Meghan was a great hostess. She was easy to communicate with and very helpful. The handbook for the stay was one of the most complete I’ve seen and very helpful! I highly recommend this lovely spot!"
