Beware
Check-in is miserable. The Guards at the gate are hostile and the lobby receptionists range from cool to cold. The permanent residents are also quite cool, which is very unlike the Mexico I know well (having lived in the country 12 years and traveling to for 40 years). The apartment is a disappointment. The advertisement says it has a kitchen. Don't count on it. A small induction stove. No oven. A couple of frying pans, no cooking pots (if, in fact, the stove has a large enough circumference to permit of making anything like a stew or spaghetti sauce, etc., few utensils. But, strangely, two fancy coffee makers and all the espresso cups and coffee mugs any six people would need. The refrigerator is tiny and does not get cold and the "freezer" part has the same problem - ice cubes take a couple of days to freeze, while frozen meat dethaws in the freezer. I have had better luck with those little refrigerators in cheap motels. The neighborhood is distant and isolated from Merida central, where all the good restaurants are.. It does have a fancy, still-in-completion shopping mall. But no good restaurants around. One positive - if you need to swim your laps, the pool is excellent for lap swimming. If despite all this you are thinking of booking, only do so if you will have your own vehicle. The place is so isolated, Uber cannot find it.
