A taste of history! If you love log cabins, The Lookout is a serenely beautiful, 100-year-old restored cabin immersed in nature with breathtaking views. It's like stepping back in time into a secluded mountain haven.

As you enter, you'll notice the rustic décor with exposed log walls and all the comforts of home. The living room features a big comfy couch, fireplace, flat-screen TV and the cutest window seat ever …perfect for reading a good book.

The combined galley kitchen and breakfast nook is efficient for preparing snacks for your hike or enjoying your morning coffee — but don't forget about the deck with its custom raised deck chairs! The views are enough to make you want to spend all day outdoors.

The outdoor hot tub is ideal for relaxing after a day of hiking or sightseeing, with the mountain air to refresh your soul. Imagine just letting time drift by from your seat on the porch swing…such peace in a natural setting!

Share memories around the fire pit… roasting marshmallows or hotdogs to get that smoky taste. Surround yourself in nature and create new memories to last a lifetime.

The loft bedroom features a king bed. A bath/shower is on the main floor. If you have additional guests, a sleeper sofa will accommodate them. Perfect for a weekend lover's getaway with a cozy feel, this historic log home awaits you for a relaxing retreat with its own mountain majestic views, surrounded by natural beauty.

Complete Serenity
This was our third time to visit and as always, complete serenity. We come here to get away and relax and this place delivers every single time. Perfect Getaway

Cozy peaceful retreat!!!
We loved our stay at the lookout!!. It was cozy and comfortable and peaceful. We especially loved the hot tub and the porch. Perfect place for two. Views were spectacular! The food at the Hatter Café and wildflower Café were delicious. Had a great hike at Little River Canyon and Falls. Definitely would come back!!😊😊😊

Our visit to this cabin was absolutely perfect. The cabin itself is completely adorable and the view is heavenly, especially sunset. My husband and I just need a weekend away from the hustle and bustle and this place delivered. We hated to leave.

2nd time staying this year
This was our second time staying in this cabin this year. This time was for our 23rd anniversary. Love the bed swing on the back balcony and the two large chairs to see the spectacular view. Of course the hot tub is relaxing as well. We loved our stay both times we visited. We will definitely be back.

Cozy Cabin
Great small cabin was exactly what we were looking for. The wrap around deck is awesome and we spent most of our time out there looking at the valley view below. Great sunsets from the custom chairs or swinging bed on the deck! Fully stocked kitchen- we cooked all dinners in with nothing lacking. Will absolutely return to this cabin again. Host Holly was excellent as well.

Lives up to the name
We arrived for a long weekend getaway to celebrate our 25th Anniversary. We usually stay at Just Bluffin' (another cabin nearby) but it was not available, but fortunately for us, the Lookout was! The old cabin on the mountain's edge certainly deserves the name, The Lookout. We spent over an hour one afternoon looking out over the valley as the rain clouds rolled down the far hillside before finally reaching us. We then moved to the spacious front porch where we sat in the rocking chairs and listened to the raindrops on the metal roof. The large rear deck allowed us to grill, dine out, relax in the swing bed, lounge in the deck chairs, and spend time in the hot tub with room to spare. Of course, the views are fantastic; morning, noon, or night with sundowns being especially colorful. Perhaps the best feature is the loft bedroom and the King-sized bed when the day is through. Modern conveniences with rustic charm. We will most definitely be back.

I needed a break and this place was the most peaceful place with breathtaking views! Everything was perfect! The area is very peaceful. No scary mountain roads getting to the place. The cabin was amazing! The only thing is that if you want to dine out you need to ensure reservations. I will definitely be back!

Perfect weekend getaway
We enjoyed our stay at The Lookout in Mentone! It was a first visit to Mentone and definitely will be back in the future! The cabin was everything we thought it would be, very clean and decorated nicely with an amazing view. The bed swing was very comfortable and the perfect spot to sit and relax while watching the sunset. If I could give more than 5 stars I certainly would. Relaxing and peaceful stay
The outdoor area is wonderful. There was a cool mountain breeze during our June visit, so we stayed outside alot. Cabin was small, but functional. Kitchen was well equipped. . Napping swing was 👍🏻! Enjoyed the record player and book selection. Cabin is private with no other properties having a view of the deck area.

Amazing time
I am so picky when it comes to staying places— when I arrive it has to be very clean or I will leave. This cabin was immaculate! It is so cozy and had so much privacy, but we loved knowing their were other cabins not far from us. The view is even better than the pictures, and we loved the outdoor swing that was the size of a bed! We spent so much time out there. The hot tub was clean and a great way to spend our evenings. We will definitely be back!

Amazing get away
We came to Mentone for our 38th anniversary. This was the absolute best trip we have ever taken. The cabin was wonderful and well equipped. It had everything we needed. The back porch was close to Heaven. We truly enjoyed the sunset view from the hot tub and the bed swing. We only went out to eat one evening and then we wished we would have stayed at the cabin. To top it all off this cabin is pet friendly and our fur baby loved it just as much as we did. Can’t wait to come back and enjoy the peace and tranquility very soon.
