"We have travelled and stayed in too many hotels to count. There have so far been 2 that have stood out in our minds as giving excellent service. The Loch Maree has jumped to number one. Duncan who welcomed us, was fantastic. He surpassed any previous number ones! He could not do enough to help and make sure that we were comfortable and had all that we needed. When the Callan, came back from his holiday, he again was lovely, helpful and kind, but Duncan had already taken the top spot. The food was very good. We noticed that some people complained about the lack of choice. It is the end of the season and hotels are closing down, so naturally the choice will be a bit less. Each night there was a couple of different choices, from the night before. Had absolutely no complaint about the food, presentation and flavours."

"Lovely old grand building in an a beautiful setting- lochside with views to beat any! Friendly staff, great meal. A great location to explore some unique countryside from. Large enough to feel like a well equipped hotel, but small enough to feel exclusive and special. Older room, but felt authentic and comfortable. "

"Had a lovely stay at Gairloch Highland Lodge. Received a warm welcome from Michael who allowed us to check in early. View from our room was gorgeous. Overlooked Gairloch Harbour. Will definitely stay there again if we return to Gairloch. "

"The location is wonderful, but that’s all the property has going for it. I have never stayed in such a dirty house. I had to clean the downstairs windows, so we could see the view. Mould in both bathrooms. Hairs on bathroom walls and dirt. The kitchen is filthy. Front garden fill with weeds. The whole house was dirty. Not a clean picture or mirror in the whole house. Avoid at all costs. One of beds smelled of sweat. I really don’t know how the owner gets away renting it out. I did speak to owner but he was not interested. I have put in a complaint to Vrbo. I took photos but you can’t add photos to your review. Kettle needs condemning. Fried rice stuck to sitting room wall. Sofas had stains on them. Junk of the owners in back garden and across the road, so your view is blocked out of dining room. The place is a disgrace. Would never recommend this place. Very unhappy customer."
