Situated in leafy, poetic Elwood, this 4 bedroom Edwardian, 2 story house is reminiscent of a bygone era with it's high ceilings, beautiful stained glass windows and ornate fireplace. Rest assured, the property has been brought into the 21st century with a stunning renovation of the open plan kitchen, dining and living area leading out onto a private, landscaped terrace with built in BBQ. The open plan living space with it's soaring cathedral ceilings has lovely polished concrete floors.
All bedrooms have queen sized beds, with two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs. The master bedroom upstairs has a luxe designer ensuite. One of the downstairs bedrooms enjoys a beautiful view into the front garden and has a lovely window seat. Relax here and read a book to escape the hustle and bustle or have a long soak in the tub in the family bathroom, drying off with a warm towel, thanks to the heated towel rail.
The streets of Elwood are a further nod to another era, with many of the street names, including this one, named after famous British and Australian poets. Apparently, Elwood was known to be full of ill-tempered troublemakers who wouldn't pay their rates. So, in the 1850s, the council decided to rename the streets after poets to lift the moral character of those residents. Today, Elwood is a beautiful suburb, with the best of both worlds; shops and cafes, parks and the beach.

FROM THE OWNER:
We lived in Elwood for years and what attracted us to this home is its location. Its a few hundred meters to the Tennyson Street shops great for coffee, bakery and a drink at the tiny King of Tonga. Elwood foreshore, Elsternwick park and Elwood village are also a short stroll away. The house itself works really well in the warmer weather the living room doors open wide to the north facing courtyard. We have no doubt youll love it too whether for a short or longer stay.
