In Union Street you will find a quieter set of cafes for a relaxed brekkie or lunch.
Brunswick Central Townhouse is located in the lively Sydney Road precinct of Brunswick, close to Princes Park, Royal Park, Carlton, Lygon St the Airport, and is only 4 kms or 15 mins by tram or car from the CBD. Along Sydney Road, you will find an interesting selection of colourful shops, countless restaurants, cafes, pizzerias, bars pubs, and two supermarkets, ATMS etc; all your everyday needs are catered for. Temple Brewing Co or Thunder Road Brewing Company are also worth a visit for lunch. There is a lively music scene as well. For more great restaurants and cafes visit Lygon Street in East Brunswick, only a short stroll away. The area is among the best-served by public transport in Melbourne.
Its a very short walk to the Zoo, Royal Park golf course, Carlton Football Club or the Royal Park or Princes Hill Tennis Clubs. Take the tram south to Melbourne University, Queen Victoria Market and the CBD, or north to Coburg or Fawkner.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTTrams are on nearby Sydney Road, run frequently, and only take 15 mins to reach the CBD. Or you can travel north to Coburg and Fawkner. You can also walk to shops, cafes, restaurants etc in Sydney Road nearby, and some great restaurants nearby in Lygon St. As above, you can easily walk to multiple amazing places nearby.Also, if you only travel on the trams within the city grid, its free, and you dont need a Myki card.
GETTING THERE
From the airport, exit from Citylink at the Brunswick Road exit ramp and turn left. Turn left into Sydney Road at the 711 and it is the second street on the left-hand side.From the city, going up Royal Parade, continue on Sydney Road past the 7 Eleven and it is the second street on the left-hand side. Its such a vibrant and exciting place to stay due to its diverse mix of friendly residents, creating a strong sense of belonging which is hard to find elsewhere. Our favourite aspects of the townhouse are its beautiful timber floors and staircases, and the large lounge room on the top level, which is just incredible, especially at night.
