Whether a concert evening in the New Palace, wine tasting in the state winery, freshly caught fish in one of the good restaurants or a visit to a museum: Much of what Meersburg has to offer is right on the doorstep. You can reach the lake on foot in a few minutes. You live opposite the New Palace in one of the city's most historic and formerly most important buildings: the former residence of the Prince-Bishops of Constance. The listed Baroque house was built in 1700 by Bishop Marquardt Rudolf von Rodt. Hence the name: Rodt's Palace.
The open-plan 54 square meter apartment has been completely renovated and refurbished and has free WiFi and a flat screen. Clear lines, classic design and modern art by renowned, regional artists set the tone. The two high, light-flooded rooms, solid oak parquet, the high-quality furnishings with soft leather seating in the living and dining area and the separate, spacious bedroom create a comfortable atmosphere in a historic setting. With the elevator and an extra key you can get straight to your apartment.
In just a few steps you are on a wonderful panoramic terrace with a unique view of Lake Constance and the Swiss Alps. Many walks start right in front of the Rodt Palace. A half-hour walk along the lake or along the Höhenweg takes you to the historic Haltnau vineyard. You can find out why it has been in Constance's hand since 1225 with a good snack and a Constance quarter. Does the latter hold up against the Meersburger drops? Opinions differ widely, judge for yourself. The Vineo, an excellently made museum about the history of wine on Lake Constance, is directly opposite the Rodt's Palace. Visiting there is just fun. A visit to the Meersbuger Therme is very relaxing: sweat while looking at the lake - and even jump into the water in winter: simply wonderful.
A parking lot nearby (approx. 600 meters in 8 minutes on foot) of your vacation home between the pretty half-timbered houses in the heart of the old town is free of charge for you. There is a café / restaurant on the ground floor of the palace.
