Social distancing at its best!! Get away from it all at this KABIN in the woods in beautiful Kibler Valley. Located on a stocked trout stream on the Dan River, 15 miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 25 miles from Chateau Morrisette, and 5 miles from the South Entrance of Primland Resort. 20 miles to Meadows of Dan and Mabry Mill and 20 miles to Andy Griffith’s hometown of Mt.Airy, NC (aka Mayberry). All easily a half day trip then relax in this peaceful setting that has approximately 200 feet of river frontage. Perfect for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing or just cooling off! Watch the river run by at the fire pit. Bring your bicycles!! Covered deck and dock overlooking the river. Area is great for hiking, biking and picnicking. Cabin is approx 1000 square feet with 1 queen bed in loft and 2 bunk beds on main floor. 2 full baths, fully stocked kitchen, living room with rock fireplace . New Central A/C and heat installed but cabin is in the woods in a valley and is usually 10-15 degrees cooler than anywhere else. Bring a jacket because you will need it at night to relax on the porch. That’s the greatest part of this remote location! You can RELAX !! Large front porch, screened in side porch, and deck off loft. Perfect for couples or small families.

Perfect Summer Getaway
My wife and I along with our four, four legged girls had a great time. Cabin was perfect and one of the best places we have ever stayed. Joy and Billy are wonderful hosts. Will definitely stay again and recommend to our family and friends.

My husband and I will definitely be coming back to stay! And our doggies will be joining us again too..they loved it! Would love to see a pull along wagon to haul wood and such across to the fire pit/picnic area!

We loved the house and location and had a great time. The only downfall was the beds. The upstairs was as hard as a rock and we left a day early because we couldn’t find a single place to get comfortable. We loved everything else and hopefully will be back!

The cabin is beautiful and very well maintained. We enjoyed sitting on the porch and listening to the river and fires in the fireplace at night. The property is about 30 minutes from the nearest town but is quiet and very private.

I highly recommended, Joy she was very sweet and called a couple days before. Clean, anything we could have needed was there, scenery was beautiful and legit heaven on earth for a weekend for me and my husband to trout fish too. We def will be back.

Gorgeous property!
This cabin was so beautiful and absolutely immaculate. The pictures online do not do it justice. I fell in love as soon as we walked in the door, only wish we could have stayed longer. Totally peaceful and serene. Spent a lot of time just relaxing on the front porch and listening to the river run. I can't wait to be able to go back again!

Cozy river retreat
This was such a cozy place. Didn't take us long to start relaxing. Our puppy loved the river and swam for the first time. Mattress was the most comfortable we have ever slept on. Cabin had everything we needed plus some. Best thing was, we had no cell service and thats what we wanted. It was perfect and definitely plan on going back!!!

My wife and I were blown away by how nice the cabin and property was. Such a peaceful setting. Every amenity you could think of, the owners provided. Our stay was cut short due to a power outage, but my wife and I are all ready looking forward to booking again in the next year or so, if they will have us again. Thank you soo much!

This was a great place to stay very nice and clean. Joy was so nice to work with and myself and my boyfriend plan on coming back to bring the kids to enjoy it with us. Was what we wanted and more in our stay I will be telling my friends and family about our stay and tell them they must go and enjoy the nice views and the peace and quite there. Quite an Peaceful
Restaurants are not convenient,same as grocery stores.Take what you need. Worth the effort. Short drive to park way.Great trout fishing.Lots of wood for the fire place.

Paradise Found!
This place truly was Heaven on Earth! We spent countless hours relaxing on the front porch watching the river in front of us and enjoying the songbirds. We had to force ourselves to leave the cabin so we could go explore. After a day of exploring it was a treat to come home and sit by the river with cocktails and count the lightning bugs! The added bonus was we could bring our dog!!! Thank you for making this trip so relaxing and giving us a chance to jus disconnect from the world.

Back again
This is our third visit to Meadows of Dan. We like the location. The Dan River is a 30 second walk from the front door. We can play in the river with the dogs. Kibler Valley is isolated enough that there is very little traffic on the road making it safe for the dogs. It is close enough to Mt. Airy and the Blue Ridge Parkway that there is plenty to see if we want to get out. The cabin has always been ready for us to move right in. Joy has always been available if we needed something.

Relaxing long weekend
We had a great stay at this cabin! Our dog loved splashing in the water, and playing in the yard with plenty of space to run and play. My husband fished everyday and caught a few small fish in the river. I enjoyed reading a book listening to the river and just relaxing. I had a tiny bit of AT&T cell service in random spots but overall it was really nice to be unplugged. The kitchen was nicely stocked with pots and pans for us to cook all of our meals, we didn't leave the property for the days we stayed. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway that likes water and front porch relaxing!

Little piece of heaven
I have been looking for this place over half my life. I have been visiting this river and valley since I was about 8. We camped and have the best memories. Now we are older and my parents have retired their camping gear forever. I thank God he sent us to the owners here who were so gracious to share their little piece of this paradise. I can't say enough about the property, the owners and their place down by the river. It was truly one for thebooks and we will be returing very soon. Thanks a million Joy....🌿

Fresh air riverside!
My wife and I just returned from our stay at “ Heaven on Earth.” We very much enjoyed this refreshing change of pace from our lives in suburban Washington DC. Our dog Holly ( American Foxhound) had a great time running/exercising between the cabin and the Dan River. The cabin was comfortably furnished, and featured a nice stone fireplace which we would have used if the weather had been colder. But the best feature for us was the huge front porch with rocking chairs. The rushing waters of the Dan River were just what we were looking for. The cabin was remote ( several miles of dirt roads to reach it)..and there were no restaurants within 40 minutes. But if we wanted city conveniences we would have stayed home. Not a problem, as we were informed by the owner prior to our stay. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again... very appreciative of this getaway opportunity.

Heaven!
We headed to Meadows of Dan to celebrate our 8th wedding anniversary. Our in laws watched our twin toddlers so we had 4 days to ourselves to unwind - - and unplug! I am a Pediatric Registered Nurse and my husband works in Global Cybersecurity, so unplugging was HUGG for us. We loved morning coffee on the front porch watching the river roll by. We fished, rested, read, cooked dinners, and truly lost track of the time and day. NOTE: there is NO cell service for miles (even for this cybersecurity hacker who has every communication platform short of HAM radio) and no Wi-Fi. This is disclosed clearly in the listing and was TRUE with no wavering in location. This was the appeal to us. There is a landline for your use (and emergencies). Loved loved our stay. Easy in and out with lovely and helpful owners who let you just unwind with ease. Thank you!
