"We were driving from the UK to the south west of France and wanted somewhere to stay en route. What a wonderful surprise this place was. The house is a big, beautiful, old (really old!) property with very generous rooms and lovely ensuite bathrooms. The hosts are very welcoming and generous. Saintes - who knows why that big town is not more widely known as a tourist destination. Incredible architecture, lovely river walks, greta places to eat. And the best bit - we have 2 large excitable dogs...

"What an amazing tranquil place run by the loveliest family. If you are looking for an incredibly comfortable, quiet location in which to step out of the rat race, then this is it.Convenient for Cognac. Nothing is too much bother and the hosts make you feel like a real family guest. Great food if you request dinner. Incredible value."

"We stayed here while travelling through France. We were due to arrive a bit earlier than checkin and the host was very accommodating to our needs. Our room was beautiful and to a very high standard. The pool was a bonus on a lovely warm afternoon. Great outdoor seating and wonderful location "

"The gentleman of the house could not be more gracious. His English is superb ( my French is nonexistent ) so he was able to help me make plans for all my area touring. Located about .5 hour from towns,beachs, parks.... There is onsite parking. The property was completely renovated 2016 and I mean everything. King room is spacious by any standard with a beautifully appointed bathroom and separate dressing room.Outdoor space has options for shade, sun, lounge. Picnic pack, spa, sauna, and dinner...

"De passage à Saintes, nous avons passé une nuit sur place. Très calme pour bien dormir. Très bon accueil à l’arrivée. Le petit déjeuner dans le jardin le matin c’est au top, notre hôte a été aux petits soins, c’était très agréable. Nous n’hésiterons pas à reprendre une nuit à l’occasion."

"The cottage was a lovely place to stay. The property was very quiet and presented exactly as the listing described. We had everything we required and everything was clean and tidy. The pool area was lovely. There wasnt really anything in the village but the nearest town was only 10 or so minutes away. There was a supermarket and petrol station and a market.
