We booked this hotel after we had already started our trip and realized we wanted to stay closer to the MZT airport rather than several hours away on the night prior to our flight. So because it was a busy weekend in Mazatlán, the room was a bit more than we otherwise would have paid and ended up being the most expensive one night stay for our ten day trip. The room was spacious, but overall the stay here was a disappointment. The hotel is relatively recent construction and apparently our room had just completed. There were no table and chairs in the room just a bed and sofa couch, so we didn't have much horizontal space to lay things down. The night stands on each side of the bed also didn't have any lamps so reading in bed was out of the question, just overhead ceiling lights which have annoying glare when you are laying down. Bathroom also had no shelves to put personal items and the sink is a pedestal sink which is fine for a powder room in a house but no substitute for a bathroom vanity in a hotel.
Shortly after turning out the lights, we heard a key being inserted into the door and locks operating. Before we could jump up and get to the door a man opened it even though we were yelling to stop. apparently someone had locked their keys in their room and gave the staff the wrong room number to enter. You would think that well trained staff would know to always knock and verify it is not occupied prior to entering a room. Hotel offered us a bottle of wine the next day.
