Residencial La Isla del Puerto is a complex built opposite the safe sandy beach of La Isla where you can walk 50metres into the sea and the clear,warm water is still only up to your waist. This 12 year old apartment (1st floor with lift) is furnished and maintained to a high standard. . There is one double bedroom with King size bed and one twin bedroom with 2 single beds both with ample wardrobe space. There are two shower rooms/wc for your convenience. We have just had a new larger shower enclosure fitted to one bathroom.The kitchen is well equiped (including a washing machine) and leads into the lounge/diner which leads onto the balcony with spectacular sea views and across to La Isla.
There is a large communal roof terrace where you can see spectacular sunsets.
There is a large communal pool with separate children's pool, entry phone system and large communal roof solarium with great views of the bay and mountains.
Air conditioning keeps it cool in the summer and heating keeps it warm in the winter.
The apartment is on the 1st floor, with a lift and is a level 10 minute walk to the port making it an ideal base for families with children and the elderly.
However 10 minute walk in the other direction leads you to numerous other bars and restaurants.
There are also a few disco bars that stay open late in the Port. (10 minute walk away)
The apartment in in a quiet residential area so although it is within easy reach of all amenities it is very peaceful at night. The shutters make it very dark at night so you will get a good night,s sleep.
The property is accessed via lift with ramps in foyer. there is no bath only shower in each bathroom. It is a flat walk to the town centre and all reataurants and bars. The main beach in the new marina has the facility to aid wheelchair users into the sea please contact tourist information centre for more details.

Then spend the rest of your night at a beach bar under the stars or dance in one of the new discos. There is a Marina with shops,bars and restaurants and impressive boats to view.

The area has had a lot of investment over the past few years and has transformed into a cosmopolitan centre whilst still retaining its rustic charm.
The prices in the bars and restaurants are still low compared to other parts of Spain; as this is primairily a working town and a Spanish tourist resort.

Tin mines just outside of port where the workings can still be seen.
Sierra Espuna National Park where you will find clear water fountains and breath taking scenery taking in the sights of Totana,Aledo and Lorca .
Guns of Mazarron in L'Azohia, a fortress used in the film the Guns of Navarone.
City of Murcia, a delightful and unspoilt Spanish city where good food, fine living and nightlife can be found.
Cartegena, a historical port that dates back over 3000 years.There is also an excellent shopping centre.
Restaurants: In most you will find seafood,fish,and meat dishes. There is also a selection of Italian and Chinese with a couple of English and an Indian. There are of course Spanish tapas bars which also offer good menu de la dia(menu of the day) which is a fixed price menu including drinks and is a very inexpensive way to sample local cuisine.
