Mazama Haven - Great Views, Near River & Trails

Summary:
Mazama Haven is a modern two bedroom cabin with great views, close to the river and trails. This gorgeous location is tucked away between the iconic Mazama corner hay field and riverside woodland on the banks of the Methow River, and has spectacular views towards Sandy Butte and Driveway Butte.

This bright light-filled cabin sleeps up to 4-6 in the two bedrooms and a sleeper sofa in the living room. The open plan living room with its high ceilings and large sliding windows features a fully equipped kitchen with a large island for gathering.

Choose this cabin for a quiet retreat with great views and sunsets from the deck, its community woodland trail and riverside access, and its convenient location for the trails.

The Space:
This is a compact single-level two bedroom vacation home. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and ensuite bathroom with shower and double sinks. The second bedroom also has a queen bed and there is an additional full bathroom with bathtub and shower over.

The living room features three large sliding windows, opening onto the deck, and facing west with views of the mountains. The fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, crockpot, waffle iron, and range/oven. The large kitchen island with four stools is a great place to gather. In addition there is a fold out dining table with stools that can be set up to seat 6. There is a stacked washing machine and dryer in the corridor alcove.

Mazama Haven is 500 yards from the access point to John’s Way winter-time ski trail, and the Methow Community Trail just over the road. It’s 0.6 miles to the Mazama Trail head, giving you plentiful options for cross-country skiing in the vicinity.

It is also one of the few area cabins with private community riverside access to one of the best river beaches and swimming holes on the river; the perfect spot to cool off on a hot summer day. There is a well-maintained woodland trail from in front of the home leading to the river.

The Neighborhood:
MAZAMA MEADOWS
Mazama Haven is located in the Mazama Meadows HOA community on 30 acres of conservation easement property including the Mazama Corner hay field and 5 acres of riverside woodland (and is currently the only built residence in the HOA).

MAZAMA
The cabin is located 0.7 miles from the Mazama Store and the Methow Trails trailhead (for great hiking, mountain biking and cross-country ski trail options). In addition to the store with its great bakery and grocery, Mazama is home to the Goat’s Beard outdoor store (with mountain bike and fat bike rentals), the Mazama Ski School for cross country ski hire and lessons and the Mazama Public House.

NORTH CASCADES NATIONAL PARK
Mazama Haven is also conveniently situated for easy access to the North Cascades and the trailheads to many of the Park's world-class hiking trails. It’s under 20 minutes drive to the Cutthroat Lake trailhead, 25 minutes to Washington Pass and 30 minutes to Maple Pass trailhead. Great for beating the crowds and snagging a trailhead parking spot at peak seasons.

Getting Here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over State Route 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Blewett Pass, or via highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Windows galore
Windows provided beautiful views to the outdoors at every turn. Kitchen was well equipped. A short walk brings you to the bakery at the Mazama store, which bakes luscious pastries.

Mazama Haven
The property lives up to its name! Lovely spot with views of the mountains and proximity to all the outdoor activities available in Mazama and the surrounding area. The cabin is comfortable and well stocked with kitchen essentials. If indoor time is needed, there are plenty of games and DVD’s available.

Nice stay
Very reasonable stay. No window shades so bring a sleep mask if staying in the summer, and kitchen isn’t super well stocked: in particular no chefs knife. Otherwise great place and location.

Great location! But not ideal in summer months
The cabin was in a great location and had beautiful views of the surrounding area. I think it would be a nice location in the winter, but we went during the summer and didn't feel it was adequately equipped for that. The majority of the house (and view) are west facing so it gets all the afternoon sun and gets pretty warm. There also isn't any built-in AC, so they placed portable AC units in the living room and the first bedroom. They worked, but they were loud and the one in the smaller bedroom made the window inoperable, so you either had to sleep with the loud AC or sleep in the heat (with no fan). There are also a lot of windows in general, which provides for great views, but some of the windows in the bedrooms don't have blinds or if they do, they are light filtering. It just makes it tougher for small kids with an earlier bedtime. And you just have to be okay with rising early in the morning.

We enjoyed our stay at this cute, clean cabin. It is very comfortable, well-equipped and quiet with an easy walk to the best bakery in the mountains. Unfortunately, fires in the mountains put a damper on our weekend plans, but we will be back.

Beautiful location and quiet
Wonderful place to stay in Mazama. This rental is more functional than luxurious but if you're coming to Mazama I'm guessing you're going to spending most of your time outside. About a 15 minute walk to the Mazama store and the Old School Brewery. The kitchen area is very nice but is a bit light in dishes, utensils, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
