Not quite the luxury experience we were expecting however we eventually had a great holiday once we accepted the food and organisation were not going to be up to our standards (given the price we paid).
We travelled mid January -the hotel was reasonably busy but not greatly so.
The catering staff are not independent thinkers. We believe they get many products pre-prepared and struggle to make adjustments to cater for diet. Despite letting the managers know about the dietary requirements when booking restaurants - the chef/servers frequently complained (to us) that they were not informed and therefore they could do nothing.
One restaurant - the Mahogany did have a great chef/staff in for breakfast and lunch so the hotel redeemed itself here and we were very happy with the efforts they put in. However it took 2 days to reach that point.
The positives - rum sours - phew! the sea front room was just gorgeous. The lap pool was usually empty and we mostly got a beach/pool bed when we wanted one, but you had to be early. Despite the signs around the property, the adults area was prone to reservations in the german style with towels and clips. The kids pool was actually really nice too.
We walked into Oistins and took the local mini-buse to the broadwalk and then walked into Bridgetown.
The area outside the hotel has plenty of bars and restaurents, street food and public beaches.
The sea was rough due to wind, common for January we were unable to swim there due to red flags.
