Our stay at Mauzac
Loved our stay here, well equipped through out, clean and spacious. Master bedroom is great, although when it's very hot 2 fans are not enough to cool the air being as though it's in the loft space. Sonia & Jon are superb hosts and very helpful with local knowledge. The gate access to the river is smashing and the shared pool is spot on.

Tales by the riverbank
The house is in a great location & is well equiped. The grand children loved the shared pool & spent hours with the small fishing nets on the river bank which is just yards away from the back of the house. We liked being able to dine out side in the evenings. We thoughly enjoyed our stay

A thoughtfully and well-equipped holiday home. Spacious and comfortable .
A family holiday that was perfect in every respect for us. We loved the comfortable house and it's beautiful, unspoilt location beside the Dordogne river. The main bedroom at the top of the house was comfortable and luxuriously spacious. Very warm up there but fans were provided in every room. The children's rooms were attractive and had a few games in one of the cupboards. Our daughter and her partner enjoyed the other large double bedroom and ensuite. A change around was necessary when our son and his family joined us after the first few days and we became ten in number, but machine-washing sheets was easy in the well-equipped utility room. The kitchen was also well-equipped in every way and the second fridge quickly became the 'drinks fridge'. The outside dining area and lovely barbecue were in constant use and there was plenty of room to relax in shade or sun around the pool. Sharing the pool was no problem. We enjoyed meeting the other two families in the property next door. We also enjoyed meeting Sonya and John who looked after the house and were there for help and advice when needed. We bought baguettes and croissants daily from the village shop and ate several lovely meals in the two restaurants in the village. Most of the places of interest we visited involved quite a long drive but the journeys were always attractive. We also saw how busy some other areas of the Dordogne were and were always happy to come back in the evening to the quiet tranquility of Mauzac.

The whole place was well equiped and comfortable. We were lucky to have nice neighbours.
The only suggestion would be to have sheets on the beds as well as the duvets as it gets very hot. The double bed on the first floor needs reparing cause it squeeks wenn ever you turn over. Sonja and John were very helpful. All and all a very relaxing holiday. Thank you Sue

Superb house in a superb location
A fantastic, clean, spacious, well decorated and equipped house in a perfect spot. We loved walking along the river to the shop to buy bread and pain aux raisins each morning. Great small bar/resto in the village. The pool is gorgeous but way too cold (without wet suits!) in v early April. A good location to explore the beautiful surrounding area. We would all absolutely recommend.

Beautiful and peaceful
It was like home from home. So well thought out. I really loved the fact that the kitchen was well equipped, as I love cooking. The bedrooms were very comfortable and even though it was 34 degrees some days, the accommodation and the pool, made it comfortable. The area is so peaceful with plenty to do, if you so wish. Next door neigbors are very friendly and made us feel welcome. Very friendly village too, so you didn't feel like strangers. Would highly recommend for families and anyone really. If your looking for peace, you've found the right place.

Perfect Holiday!
We had a wonderful stay in Mauzac. The appartement / house is part of a former hotel and (3 levels) is spacious and comfortable. We were with our family of 5, but since there are 3 bathrooms it could also fit 2 family’s of 4. The surroundings are beautiful. We used the pool daily (shared but was always available for us )and made some short trips with the canoe provided by the owners. (Calm river, but if you would like lifevests, we advice to bring your own). Lalinde is the nearest town for groceries and various restaurants, but the Italian restaurant bella ciao at the end of the street was also good value for money. The contact with the owner went very smooth. Sue is very kind and helpful. A lot of tips on places to visit were provided beforehand but also available in the house. Also the owners of the adjacent property were friendly and welcoming. A car is handy since most sightseeing or activity is half an hour away by car. Which is totally acceptable in the Dordogne area. Thanks Sue, for being a great host!

Isabelle

Fantastiskt hus i en trött fransk by
