Enchanting Nerano
It is hard to imagine that Nerano will be the same in five years, as a last original vestige of the Amalfi Coast. The apartment has an amazing terrace with panoramic views, and all the bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen were comfortable and well maintained and stocked. It is located at the start of the hiking trail to literally the end of the Amalfi Peninsula, and to the best (and generally) local beach with clear waters and snorkeling. It is quite a hike to and from Marina Cantone, and taking the bus or taxi back up to town is recommended. But the charm lies with the people who live here. From Bruno and Antoinette tho made us the “special” sandwiches and provided us with Prosecco, to Luca who runs Chasing Syrens Kayaks and not only took us on a spectacular outing but volunteered to drive and our luggage to the boat to Capri, to the Pasta Nerano and warm cornettos at Zaghera Kitchen right out the front door. But note, there are many steps to get to this apartment from the street, and it will seem a bit remote if you want to be in the middle of the Marina Cantone “action,” or the Positano crowds. We appreciated its enchanting solitude and respite from the rest of what the Amalfi Coast has become in summer.
