"We stayed for 4 nights while tobaggening in the region. We didn't know anything about Monstein and we were so pleasantly surprised! It is the most beautiful and quaint mountain village. Everyone in the town is so friendly. There are two restaurants (we had a lovely chat with the woman who owns the one up the street) and a small grocery store where you can pre-order a fondue mix to eat in the apartment (highly recommend!). "Front desk staff were extremely courteous, provided us with a map and some ideas for shopping and dining nearby (though prepare yourself for the price of dining out in Switzerland generally). During my family’s 2 week European trip, Central Hotel Post had the most comfy beds of our entire vacation, and the strongest water pressure of any shower I have ever seen (always a pleasant surprise, in my book). Our 3 rooms were spacious and very clean, we had windows that opened up to the square below, and some of the beautiful mountains surrounding, and there was an elevator/lift; we rented a car and there seemed to be no on-site parking for the hotel but we found a parking garage close by that was free on Sundays (hotel staff also gave us other options). Chur is a bit of a sleepy town so very quiet and walkable. We had a short stay and breakfast was pretty good for that period, not overwhelming variety but enjoyable nonetheless. We stayed here for an overnight before catching the Bernina Express the next morning and it is a very short distance to the train station (and the Europcar rent-a-car next door). I’d be happy to recommend this hotel to family and friends who hope to do something similar in future."
