The hotel itself is huge but so tastefully done and built in a way that if you want to find quiet you can, if you want beach you can, if you want activties there are many on offer, it has something for everyone. The rooms are lovely and it is incredible to believe that you are in a country where so many people do not have power in their homes or running clean water and yet this hotel has 3 beautiful and immaculate pools, as well as numerous rooms...

"Incredible staff nothing was too much to ensure my stay was amazing. The room was fantastic but would have liked not to have ask for the fridge or other listed things that weren’t in the room.! Main issue would be the lack of transport for solo travellers, the opportunity is there but not explored as we would love to book trips but are excluded The location may not be suitable for many but for my stay it was perfect "

"The food, the service and the amenities were very good. It is a beautiful property and the staff are so helpful. There was some noise from the construction next door but we didn’t really notice it very much. The company running the diving and snorkeling excursions on the property were very organized and professional. There was entertainment 2 of the 4 nights we stayed. "Beyond a beautiful setting, the staff and service make Mvuvi very special. Everyone is kind and helpful — including the drivers they use. "Quiet and amazing place to stay. Spacious villas in the middle of mature trees and right next to the beach. The access road to the resort could use some maintenance but likely that a government problem. Will return some day. "

"Staff seemed unhappy Although the advertisement says non powered water sports are included that is not true. It is a hike to do anything from the hotel such as boring diving, tours etc Everything is at least an hour away. High tide eliminates the beach. Low tide brings droves of annoying “beach boys” selling everything- they are very persistent and will kill your desire to swim in the sea. Hoses on the beach look nice but know what they will leave behind - nothing done to clear that"

"This a great hotel, suitable for those on a budget. It is really laidback and peaceful and great for anyone looking to get away from the stresses of everyday life. This is the second time my husband and I have used this hotel and since our last visit there is a welcoming new reception area. The rooms are clean and spacious. Would recommend this hotel to others. "

"lovely resort, rooms are very nice and clean however communication between the staff was terrible, requests that were made and confirmed prior to arrival were not met, information given to us on check in was poor and not accurate. staff failed to communicate guest requirements to other members of staff "

"This beach front resort is absolutely beautiful. Ana greeted us warmly at the reception desk. Our room was very spacious. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful! It was nice to have breakfast and lunch included in the price. We appreciated having the opportunity to change the set menu for dinner if we wanted. The Masai security workers deterred solicitors while lounging on the beach at the resort. I highly recommend this resort."

Good - and not so good

"+ The hotel is placed in the middle of everything, the room was nice and had lots of space and a great balcony. The madrass were very good and aircon/fan was working around the clock, so the room was always in temperature. All the pools were perfect. - I would have loved to know - in advance- that my room was placed in another building, as I travel alone. At breakfast my table were cleaned (even for food) and my table given to someone else when I was getting a refill. The breakfast were good, but food "a la carte" was no good"

" We had an unforgettable experience at Tulia Zanzibar during our honeymoon. The food was absolutely amazing—truly high-end and exceeded our expectations. The service was beyond phenomenal; the staff were some of the best we've ever encountered, with Joseph standing out as an exceptional member of the team. They made us feel incredibly special, surprising us with thoughtful little touches throughout our stay. The property itself is stunning, offering a serene and picturesque environment. We also loved the farm, which provided fresh, garden-grown fruits and vegetables, adding to the overall charm. Highly recommend!"

"Lovely property in a quiet corner of Stonetown. Great swimming pool. Historic quality of hotel added a charming feel. Most rooms overlook the ocean. The amenities were complete and the room was very comfortable. Spend a little extra to get an outside balcony or verandah. The staff was wonderful and helpful. There are lots of restaurants nearby. I can't speak for the food at the on property restaurant since I had to leave early and skipped the breakfast. I would definitely stay here again on a Stonetown visit. "
