Canal View, superb gîte, Heated Pool near Carcassonne next to Canal du Midi.

Canal View Cottage has the advantage of fabulous views overlooking the Canal du Midi and across the vineyards to the “Montagne Noire” in the distance. You can sit on the patio watching the boats navigate their way up and down the lock on the canal and watch the French people go about their everyday life. Upstairs, the gîte offers a double and a twin bedroom. All towels and bedding provided. Large shower, washbasin + hair-dryer. Downstairs there is everything you need for a relaxing holiday away from home. Open plan area downstairs includes a sitting room area with sofa & armchair,TV, DVD, Radio/CD player. Dining table / chairs with a kitchen offering all facilities. A full-sized oven / grill induction hob and a large fridge/freezer. All crockery, cutlery + tea towels are provided + microwave/ dishwasher/toaster/Coffee filter/washing machine/iron/cool-box etc. On the patio there is a wooden table and 4 chairs. Sun loungers are outside the gite and several up by the pool

Comfortable, well presented property with kind hosts
A comfortable, well presented property with lovely views of the Canal du Midi. It is ideally located for visits to Carcassonne, Cabrespine cave, lovely old French villages and wine tasting. Unfortunately, there was a strong wind during our stay so barbeques were not possible, however, the kitchen was well equipped to cook inside. Ann-Marie and Adrian were knowledgeable and kind hosts. We warmly recommend this property.

Fabulous Spot in superb location
What a beautiful property and so nicely located right on a lock of the Canal du Midi. The property is clean, very comfortable and the hosts are extremely welcoming, but entirely discreet. Cannot recommend staying here highly enough.

Perfect for families

Comfort by the Canal
Our hosts offered us a comfortable and relaxing spot from which to explore the region. Each day we experienced an adventure and then returned for a swim and an evening meal on the patio. Adrian and Anne Marie were very helpful with suggestions to explore. Thank you 😊

Most enjoyable comfortable stay in Marseillette
Clean, comfortable, all you need in kitchen, great shower. Friendly, welcoming hosts. A good position to explore Carcassonne and the surrounding area. Loved walking along the canal each morning to the bakery.

Lovely cottage in a quiet location
We had a long weekend here. It's close to Carcassonne and the airport but in a peaceful location next to the canal. Plenty to see and do in the area or just rest at the cottage, which is very well equipped. Couldn't fault it.

The Perfect Place
Canal View was the first stop on our drive around the south of France and it was excellent. Great facilities, clean and comfortable. Location is ideal for visiting Carcassonne and the many attractive villages in the area. Before our arrival and during our stay Ann-Marie & Adrian provided excellent information and advice.

Great spot
We loved the location of this holiday home right on the canal du midi with a lock right outside the gate. A beautiful house with everything we needed, great back yard, swimming pool and easy driving distance to Carcassone. Highly recommended.

Great accommodation in great location
We had a wonderful stay in Marseillette with our young kids. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and the setting is superb with canal boats chugging along past the house throughout the day. The kids loved the pool, trampoline and swings and their daily walk to the local boulangerie for breakfast. Easy to get to Carcassonne and the coast from the gite so we were able to do something different each day. A fantastic week.

Lovely house in a wonderful location
We love this house, it’s location, right on the Canal du Midi, and the region in general. The house is well-equipped and comfortable. A large front terrace looks over the canal and a huge rear garden has a lovely pool (shared with the other gite on this site). We have been here three times now and hope to return next year.

Great location with added peace and tranquillity
Spent a relaxing short break in Canal View. Each day started with a short walk along the canal to the local boulangerie, followed by a coffee opposite. Ann-Marie and Adrian made us feel very welcome. The house was just perfect with easy links to Carcassonne and pretty Aude villages. Plenty of room for 4 persons and a complimentary bottle of wine.

Everything we hoped it would be!
We had a great time staying at this lovely Gite by the canal, enjoying the May sunshine, swimming in the lovely pool and watching the canal boats go by in the early evening whilst tending our barbeque and sampling the local wines. The Gite was a great base for exploring the local area and the whole week was a very special family time for my wife and I and our 4 year old son. Put simply, our holiday was everything we hoped it would be and we would recommend it to anyone.

Lovely gite and well equiped
Adrian & Ann Marie have recently renovated the two gites and they are looking amazing. We were in France for Easter so it was too cold to try the pool but the location is good to visit the local surroundings for day trips e.g. the citadel, the old castles. The Gite itself is well stocked and had relaxing and comfortable furniture. Adrian & Ann Marie were excellent hosts and we would highly recommend.

Great little Gites
We had a great time at the Canal View Cottage. The facilities were great and the owners really try to make sure you feel comfortable and welcome. The Gite is situated right on the canal du midi and you can watch the boats travel through the Marseillette lock. There is also plenty to do in the region with Carcassonne, the Mediterranean and many Cathar Monuments to explore. Thanks for a wonderful stay in probably one of the most unspoilt areas of France we truly did have a great time.

Fabulous gîte in a beautiful location
Canal View Cottage is perfect. Tastefully decorated and in an ideal location on the canal bank, surrounded by farms and vineyards. Our hosts Ann-Marie and Adrian were so welcoming and helpful. Inkie, the dog and Sky the kitten were adorable. From the village, it is possible to visit a huge number of interesting places including, Carcassonne, Béziers, Narbonne and many lovely villages along the canal. We had a lovely, peaceful holiday and hope to return.
