The Space:
We're very proud of the space and environment we've created here at the Lakeside cabin and nothing makes us happier than hearing from guests who think so too!
When you pull up in one of our two driveways, you'll easily be able to walk up to our second level, full wraparound deck, where the main entrance is equipped with a custom code door lock.
As you enter the house you'll walk into our huge open concept living room, perfect for watching movies next to the massive, floor to ceiling fireplace, or even playing family board games on the centerpiece coffee table. There's more than enough room for large groups, families, or even multiple families vacationing together.
On this main level you will also find our fully stocked kitchen, that has everything you need to cook and entertain large groups. We have a full size, walk in pantry filled with additional kitchen items, and more than enough space for you to fill up with whatever you need.
Next to the kitchen is our oversized, custom built wooden table with seating for 6, but you can easily pull up additional chairs for more people.
If you'd prefer to eat outside, you can also walk out to our screened in porch, with another oversized, custom built wooden table. Or any of our wraparound decks.
Also on the main floor is our master bedroom suite, with it's own private bathroom equipped with a jacuzzi tub and a large closet.
As you walk up the reclaimed wood staircase you'll find three lofted twin beds and a second HUGE bedroom suite, with two queen beds and another private bathroom with a standing shower and a separate jacuzzi tub. This bedroom has a very large walk in closet.
Please note that while the Jacuzzi is available for use, the jets are currently non-functional.
Heading all the way downstairs to the first floor/basement level, we have a third, large bedroom space taking up practically the entire floor. This room has three bunk beds creating sleeping space for an additional 6 people. There is another HUGE fireplace in this bedroom, making for a gorgeous accent.
Attached to this room is a separate space dedicated to our washer and drier, and this room has an exit that leads you directly out to the gazebo & pond area.
On the other side of this first floor bedroom you can walk out into our garage which has been converted into the ultimate game room, sporting a full size ping pong table, seating for larger groups, and another bathroom.
Outdoors, we have the two levels of oversized wraparound decks, filled with seating and space for larger groups, a grill for BBQs and gorgeous lighting that provides a warm and cozy feeling at night.
There is a mountain stream that has been channeled into a series of gorgeous pond, all stocked with fish that our guests are welcome to try and catch. We've seen some pretty incredible pictures of MASSIVE fish guests have caught, bigger than you would ever believe to be in ponds of this size.
On the other side of the pond there is a large wooden deck that extends into the pond, perfect for fishing or just relaxing in the sunshine.
The vision for Lakeside Cabin was to create a private vacation paradise for you.
You'll love stepping outside to relax and drink your morning coffee on one of our two oversized, wraparound decks overlooking the private gazebo and pond where you can relax shoreside and listen to the sound of the mountain stream flowing right by your private vacation paradise.
NOTE: The red dock on the pond is shared with other neighbors for fishing. The rest of the pond is private for you to enjoy!
On the first floor wraparound deck you'll find our large hot tub overlooking your private pond. Wind down with a glass of wine enjoying the serenity of the mountain, or stay up all night enjoying each others company! It seems like the stories never end when you're sitting in the hot tub.
As the stars come out, roast marshmallows over the fire pit right next to the lake or cozy up inside next to one of our two custom fireplaces.
Our cabin features a fully stocked kitchen, with all of the appliances you need to cook and entertain large parties of people. Eat in the dining area on our reclaimed wooden tables, out on the screened-in porch, the wraparound decks, or even down by the water in the gazebo, the choice is yours! We also have a grill on the deck for your BBQ needs.
Our garage has been converted into the ultimate game room, featuring a full size ping pong table, with a couch/seating area, and another large bathroom.
There are horseshoe pits on-site, as well as corn hole boards, and plenty of green space for a variety of outdoor activities. You're welcome to use any and all of the hiking trails on Memory Mountain, or take a quick trip to several of the nearby parks such as the Great Smokey Mountains, Pisgah National Forest, or the local Wolf Laurel Ski resort.

The Neighborhood:
The closest grocery store is Mars Hill exit 11 (on US 19/ 23 / I 26), which you will pass if you need groceries before you get here. There is an Ingles there. We provide linens and towels, but no paper products are provided; however, there should be plenty of toilet paper to last you. Walmart is 15 miles away in Weaverville Exit 18. There is a Lowe's and many restaurants.

There are two restaurants and the Exxon gas station at bottom of the hill on the actual mountain, and it is cash only at Little Creek Cafe. We recommend going to Exit 11 or 18/19 for restaurant dining, or guests can cook at home. The Walmart is at Weaverville Exit 18. There is an IHOP and Zaxby's as well. Our favorite restaurant nearby is The Stoney Knob Cafe, serving authentic Greek cuisine with a unique atmosphere and delicious desserts. Please call for reservations, ask for John the owner, and tell him you are staying with Memory Mountain and we recommended his restaurant. Blue Mountain Pizza is located on Main Street in Weaverville with live music. There are also local places with live mountain music at Blue Ridge and about 20 restaurants in Weaverville. The Stoney Knob Cafe is in Weaverville at Exit 21.

To get to the ski slopes from the lodge :
1. Exit Black Bear Drive, and turn left onto Puncheon Fork Rd.
2. Go about a mile, and turn right onto Wolf Laurel Road.
3. Follow the road to the dead end = Gate House to get your parking pass.
4. From the Gate House, take the second road to the right and follow the road to the parking lot of the Lower Wolf Ridge Ski Lodge.

If you would like to fish, please bring your own gear. Catch-and-release only, please.
Directly across the pond, you'll see some trails that go all over the mountain. Help yourself to scenic hiking!

The Appalachian Trail (AT) is very close:
1. From the house, drive as though you are going back to the interstate.
2. You'll pass the Exxon on your right. Do not turn left to merge onto the interstate; instead, stay straight on this road until you come to an area where there will be parking beside an overpass.
3. It is 1-2 miles up the road and is not marked AT. It only says "Hiking Trail."
4. Follow the trail up the hill, and you'll see a "Welcome to Tennessee" sign, and this will turn into the Appalachian Trail.

If you would like to venture into Asheville (25- 35 mins), we highly recommend the Biltmore House and a ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The most heavenly place to eat is Tupelo Honey Cafe! It is worth the wait and is located at 2 locations: downtown Asheville and southern Asheville. You’ll be glad you tried it - especially the biscuits!
