Great for the price.
Great location near the biggest plaza in Marrakesh and attractions. Totally great for a couple of days stay. Shops, museums, restaurants and bars all within walking distance. The breakfast is good, but is the same thing everyday, it gets to be boring long stay will have you eating breakfast somewhere else. Besides that is great for the value.

Mixed feelings about this riad near the medina.
This is a simple nice riad 7 minutes from the market. Smll room, but very clean and good value. Continental breakfast was nice. I did have a billing problem that marred mt checkout. After I checked in, I informed the desk that I wanted to book a second night. They said that was fine, the room was available. I made the booking online, but when it was time to check out, they wanted me to pay for the second nights booking in cash. I showed them my confirmation email that said I had alread paid by credit card, but the manager was still unsure because he hadnt been told by the boss. This was not a last minute online reservation, I had paid a full day in advance of my checkout. I spent 15 minutes argueing with the manager with the taxi waiting outside to take me to the airport. He finally let me go, but it was not a pleasant scene. I felt that since I showed him my confirmation he should have been more pleasant about what was obviously the hotels mistake. The boss had not informed the manager and they asked me to pay twice.

Peaceful place to stay
Perfect place to stay, peaceful and away from the hussle and hussle. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room I stayed in was clean and cool, and there was a fantastic roof top terrace.

Very cold room with no heating working
Avoid if possible as its at an awkward place especially if you are coming late night. Room was very cold and no heating system was in place. The receptionist was very helpful. In the morning after breakfast I asked for a glass of water and member of their staff ridiculously asked for 50 euros for the glass of water. The manager will overcharge you the city tax. Better to stay in a hotel rather than this place

Peaceful...
Mohammed the night watch, Sarah and the other staff were extremely hospitable! They went out of their way to ensure that they could help us, answer any questions or assist in any other way possible. The riad is quietly tucked away from the busy streets of Marrakech. It is situated in a perfect location and within walking distance from The Square, Bahia Palace, Koutobia Mosque. The airport is about 20 mins away by car but it maybe difficult to find the riad as it is tucked away...hotel transport is recommended if you are arriving late in the evening. Wifi was available in the riad, however the signal was quite poor in the bedroom.

Great Place
We stayed here for for 3 nights, the staff were all excellent, We had dinner one night and the food was fabulous. The location is basically on the edge of the medina, easy to get to the main square and easy to get home.

Lovely riad.
Close to the Jemaa El Fnaa square and the souks, and really easy to find from the Riad. The staff were lovely, always helpful and would try and answer any questions we had. The in-house cat was also a lovely wee thing! and soon become our new friend and also liked to have a wee nap in our room from time to time! The rooftop is a nice oasis from the hustle and bustle of the square and souks. Felt like you were more than 10 minutes away. Would definitely stay again!

Nice, quiet
Riad is inside the Medina and will be difficult to find to a newcomer. If you've had previous Moroccan medina experience, this was off a larger route enough to be quiet. But close enough to the center square. There is no wifi, if that concerns you.

Ok
Basic rooms which were comfortable. No hair dryer as stated on their website. No travel information or help with booking tours which was mentioned (can do this close by). Breakfast adequate (fruit, bread + jams, coffee, juice). Young lad very helpful and picks you up if a taxi/driver calls them too. This is not offered by them but the people I was with knew that apparently this is a service all riads should provide for safety as taxis often can't get down roads to riad doors and at night it is unsafe. Charged 20 euros from airport for pick up one way (expensive but otherwise difficlt to find riad except using googlemaps). Overall, comfortable & pleasant but doesn't have everything mentioned on their website.

Great getaway from the hustle and bustle
I had an excellent time at the Riad. Mohammad and the rest of the staff were very attentive the entire time and always provided help when needed. I felt very comfortable at the place and it was exactly the way it was described. It was close to all the main sites, maybe a 5-7 min walk to the main square, but it was nice to come back to peace and quiet from a busy day. Couldn't have been more pleased!

Exotic Charm
We are so glad we did not choose the cheaper corporate hotel outside the Medina. This hotel was a true adventure for us. Very authentic location down winding narrow streets but we always felt safe day or night. You will read about Mohammed in other reviews and it is all true. He is very special and makes your visit very comfortable with his ready help and a smile anytime. Fun,short walk to the big square and all the sights. Highly recommend as excellent choice for hotel, service and price. Ignore the complainers in other reviews. If they want the Holiday Inn then don't come to downtown Marrakesh. If want an exotic adventure you will never forget then this is a good choice.

Great for families, couples or friends!
Wonderful place! I stayed with my friend in both the downstairs room and terrace room. Both rooms were beautiful. The staff were wonderful and very friendly. The breakfast is abundant and delicious. The walk from La Place Jemaa el Fna is easy to memorise (!) and there is always someone on staff 24 hours. We had such a blast in Marrakech and it was enhanced by staying in this house. We would go there again as we reckon Marrakech would make a great long weekend away. We loved our stay here as part of the travelling we did throughout Morocco. Shukran b'zef Dar Limoun!

Helpful Proprietor
If you want to stay in a traditional Riad in the Medina this is an excellent choice. When I booked I got an e-mail from Gerard offering to arrange a taxi to collect us from the airport for a confirmed price of 15 Euro. I would highly recommend taking up this option because it is a reasonable price and most importantly you are brought close to the Riad and escorted to the door. As the streets in the Medina are labyrinthine it is best not to try to find your way about if you arrive tired and at night. Gerard also helped us orientate ourselves by personally bringing us to the D'Jmaa al Fna square. Overall I would highly recommend this Riad.

All around great
The riad is well decorated, very airy and sunny. The rooms are well decorated and comfortable. The location is good, walkable to the square and souks. It is difficult to find your first time so ask for the driver to pick you up and bring you in. Gerard, who owns the riad, is extremely friendly and helpful. He is so great, made our stay perfect.

Fantastic choice - I will definitely return
We had an absolutely lovely stay at Dar Limoun Amara. The riad is in a fantastic location within easy reach of the square and the Bahia Palace yet it is really peaceful at night. Gerard was a very welcoming host and was happy to offer advice and assistance. We will definitely return in the future.

What a wonderful Riad!
Fantastic location, inside the media and walking distance to attractions such as Djemaa el-Fna and the souks. The riad is beautiful maintained and very comfortable rooms, decorated in a moroccan style. Great breakfast! Gerard was brilliant - he helped us at every step of the way, initially explaining in detail the riad's location, and its proximity to other areas, as well as taking an active interest in the rest of our trip across morocco. As we were taking an overnight train, from Marrakech which left at 9pm, we were able to stay in the room for the whole day, and not check out until the evening, enabling us to be showered and relaxed before the long journey. We intend to return to Marrakech, and will not stay anywhere else but here!

"Dar Limoun Amara rocks!"
We had the most wonderful time at Dar Limoun Amara! The riad itself was absolutely beautiful and full of character. Our rooms were comfortable, clean and filled with traditional and modern Moroccan furnishings. We woke up to the sound of the birds, with sunlight filling the interior courtyard/garden. The riad was in a truly excellent location - a short walk from Jamaa el Fna and other attractions, but tucked away in a friendly and quiet street. Our host Gérard was friendly, gracious and helpful, reflecting the rest of the staff who made our stay a most enjoyable and relaxing experience. All in all, if you're looking for a traditional Moroccan riad, in a great location for a reasonable price, this is the place! Oh, and they have a terrace, in case you want to get away from the hustle bustle of the city and tan!

Brilliant! And even better than that...
Staying here felt more like an extension to our home rather an accommodation for a holiday. Both myself and my daughter really enjoyed the stay and Gérard is a fantastic host. Gérard arranged a taxi for us from the airport (our first time in Marrakesh so recommended!) and then gave us a good talk-through about the town and how to get round... The breakfast is fantastic! And on our last night we stayed in for a light dinner and some wine, which was also lush - neither Gérard or the staff can do enough to make the stay pleasant and memorable... We were early in the season and so shared the place with a French family who have become good friends - and places like this allow that to happen... thanks for everything!

Sometimes, you find a hotel you don't forget.
The charismatic, affable Gerard who runs this hotel, is reason enough to stay here. The other reasons are that it is a haven of peace and tranquillity in the madness of Marrakech, it is close to the famed square and the rooms form part of a typical riad that is an oasis, with birds singing, plants growing and the breakfast served in the inside courtyard. This is a gem.

AMAZING STAFF
Gerard and his staff are phenomenal. They treated us like family instead of just guests. They went above and beyond to make sure our trip was comfortable, relaxing and the best it could be. I will not hesitate to stay there again in the future. The only problem we had was finding the Riad! If you go, do not hesitate to take Gerard up on his offer to have a driver pick you up, or offer a few dollars to a kid to show you the way.

Oasis in Marrakech
This is a wonderful oasis amidst the hectic life of the medina, just a five minute walk away from Jemma el Fna square. Gerard who owns the Riad is a fantastic host, always on hand for advice. Although he is French, his English is pretty much word perfect. He is more than happy to help book trips for you. I would recommend the trip to the Orika valley. We had a fantastic day. He offered to book our transfer from the airport, but we decided to be adventurous and get the number 11 bus like the locals. It only cost 3.5 Dirham’s each. Gerard’s instructions to find the Riad were really good, and we found it very easily. The Riad was clean and homely, and all the staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast sets you up for the day, with pancakes, homemade jams, bread, fruit or yoghurt, and cake. We booked to have dinner at the Riad on our first night. Rashid is a brilliant cook. Paul and I really enjoyed the food, and the trouble that they had gone to making the table look beautiful with rose petals was amazing. What more can I say. We would highly recommend this Riad, and will be back there next time we visit Marrakech. I can’t say thank you enough to Gerard and all his staff for making our stay so pleasant and memorable.
