It is still affordable, like everything in this area. You can go on extensive hikes from the house e.g. to the local mountain Kösseine, which has gastronomy and an accommodation chalet. It is about 6km to the bird of prey park with daily eagle flight shows. In the neighbouring Fichtelgebirge you can go walking on mountains between 900 and 1050 metres in altitude. There are also several lakes and rock formations in the Fichtelgebirge, such as the romantic “cliff labyrinth” where you can walk and climb, as well as chairlifts, a summer luge at Ochsenkopf and climbing trails. At the foot of the labyrinth there is Germany’s most beautiful and well-known open-air stage, where the Luisenburg Festspiele are held every year. Other trip destinations to be recommended are Bayreuth, the Waldsassen basilica and the Czech spa triangle. The town itself has around 10,000 inhabitants and is an up-and-coming town with a beautiful pedestrian zone and excellent shopping facilities. It has an indoor pool and a charmingly designed outdoor pool.
