"This property was wonderful! Couple of things to note about Riomaggiore and Cinque Terre- there are lots of steps/stairs everywhere. This was fine for me but I could imagine others having difficulties getting around the area. Back to the property- the host met us at the train station and our room was ready early which was awesome for us after a day of travel. Amazing views of the ocean from the room. "Great proximity to the marina and the train station. Unfortunately- we were there during the off season so half of the shops and restaurants were closed... which was a real bummer but even the restaurants that were open, didn't have a lot of patronage so I understand. "A good place to stay for a couple of nights. It’s beautifully refurbished and v clean. Breakfast is nice too. It’s quite a walk into town or the train station, 30 mins or so, but there’s a a v good pizza place just down the road. We arrived mid afternoon which does not fit in with the hotels checking in hours, but after a phone call we were able to get in, much appreciated after a very long drive. "

"Near to the train station, if anyone wants to spend a night or two at La Spezia on a budget this place is hard to beat. Clean and neat, staff is only on property up to 2:00 pm, so if you arrive later than that you must follow the instructions they will send to your Whatsapp. I did, not a big deal, everything was straightforward. "Very nice and clean, room is small but that’s to be expected in Europe if your custom to the US. The room could use a shelf in the bathroom to put your stuff when getting ready. Refrigerator in room is nice and works well. Very pleased with the accommodations "

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, using it as a base to explore the Cinque Terre. It was nice at the end of the day to be able to come back and relax in a quieter setting. We loved having the balconies where we could watch all the happenings in the area! The room was clean, had a kitchen that even had a dishwasher! Housekeeping came in daily and made the bed and freshened things up, that was an added bonus! "

"We had a fantastic stay at this property - it was perfect for our needs. It was quiet but still very convenient to the train station. Our host Rebecca was absolutely amazing, she helped us in many ways - including recommendations and helping us with which passes to buy to explore the towns. The room was clean and everything that we needed as a home base. We would definitely stay again."

"Location is excellent, staff ( Lugo) was great very informative, escorted us to our room show us how to us access code box , lights and AC. Highly recommend this property for budget minded travelers.. Italian breakfast was included. "

"The proprietor went out of the way to make sure we had everything we needed. They were available to answer and questions and to suggest best options to get around, convenient places to eat. Overall a pleasant experince, would recommend for a stay in Laspezia since it is very convenient to visit the surrounding areas like Cinque Terre and Porto Venere "

"Margherita's apartment has a beautiful coastal feel, and view off the balcony could not be any better. The apartment is the best equipped of any VRBO we have stayed at in any country. Margherita is a delight and very responsive. Monterosso is the village to stay in Cinque Terre and then visit the other villages from this home base. The restaurants, shops, and more expansive space provides for a less touristy place to stay. We loved every minute! Grazie mille Margherita!!"

"Beautiful location, restaurant was delicious and reasonably priced. Lots of stairs on the property. Had a toy room and playground that our toddler loved. Easy to take the bus to Riomaggiore (10 min ride, 2.50 Euro per person)"

"This was an excellent choice for a place to stay in La Spezia. I am so happy that i booked this hotel. The decor was modern. The staff was excellent and very welcoming. Even the people staying at the hotel were friendly. The breakfast was great as well amd had a good variety of food to choose from. The room was comfortable and I had a huge balcony. I love being near clock towers and this room didn't disappoint! It is walkable to the train station and just about everything else in La Spezia. If you need a place to stay, The Poet Hotel is it! For the people who talk about the strong fragrance, this is a large reed diffuser that is located in the stairwell. It was noticable outside the room, but definitely not in my room. "

" We arrived at the hotel during the night when it was already dark. In the morning, as I woke up and looked out the window, the view was simply breathtaking. The area is stunning and very inviting. Parking at night is available around the hotel, with free public parking until the morning. However, the reception desk offers a more convenient parking arrangement in a dedicated lot just one block away, which I would highly recommend. The staff was kind and accommodating, and the hotel is clean, elegant, and well-maintained. A highly recommended stay!"
