For the discerning traveler, Villa on the Bay is a private villa at the end of a paved private road, perched atop the lush, southern ridge of Marigot Bay. No detail has been overlooked, and the on-island property manager provides concierge services including assisting with recommending and booking on-island transportation, restaurants and tours. The villa is one of only a couple of privately-owned villas in Marigot Bay that can sleep 10-12 people and that take only one reservation at a time, resulting in guests having exclusive use of the entire villa, pool, and grounds (most other villas of its size in Marigot Bay take multiple reservations for different groups at the same time, with guests sharing common areas such as the pool, parking, and grounds). Because of the villa's placement at the top and end of the ridge, there are incredible trade-wind Caribbean breezes and direct views (almost 360-degree views) of both the majestic Caribbean Sea and beautiful Marigot Bay. The two-floor villa, with custom-made and oversized wooden spiral staircase, has over 4500 square feet of indoor living space plus six decks (not a typo!) on three different levels providing expansive outdoor living space and breathtaking views - at different heights above the water - of the sea, cliffs, both the inner and outer bays of Marigot Bay (with its beautiful sailboats and yachts), the palm-lined Marigot Bay Beach separating the inner and outer bays, the northern ridge of Marigot Bay, and the island of Martinique to the north.
The villa's great room has vaulted traditional wood-slat Caribbean ceilings, Caribbean palm-leaf ceiling fans, an oversized driftwood dining table, and a sitting area with a large, wall-mounted television in case you want to look at something other than the natural beauty that is visible from three full walls of 8-foot-high, oversized, easy-open sliding glass doors that create a seamless transition from the inside to the outdoors and welcome magnificently-refreshing Caribbean breezes that have the side benefit of making mosquitos a rare find at the villa.
Villa on the Bay has five spacious bedrooms, each with its own fully-stocked, private bath, plus an extra full bath off of the great room, and an extra half bath on the pool level for pool use. In addition to having a full private bath stocked with Turkish bath towels, hand soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer, cotton balls and Q-Tips, each bedroom has incredible views of Marigot Bay and the Caribbean Sea from oversized windows and glass doors, either a king or queen bed (made with luxurious 850-thread-count sheets, both firm and regular pillows to suit each guest's need, and a plush hypo-allergenic, down-alternate, all-weather comforter), blackout bamboo window shades, air-conditioner unit with remote, Caribbean-style ceiling fan, and wall-mounted television. Two bedrooms have their own stainless steel beverage refrigerators, and one bedroom has a closet safe.
The heated and lighted pool was recently re-titled and re-plastered and is on the newly-expanded pool deck overlooking Marigot Bay and the Caribbean Sea. The pool has oversized steps for easy accessibility and for lounging, and it is surrounded by eight teak chaise lounges with cushions for relaxing, a sun bed with cushion, pillows, and sun cover, two hanging rope chairs, and one of four outdoor dining tables. Above the pool deck, the villa's veranda deck contains a large teak dining table with cushioned armchairs for dinners with magnificent views as well as a teak couch and two oversized teak armchairs with plush cushions for relaxing and enjoying the views of Marigot Bay and the Caribbean Sea. The villa's BBQ deck, which also overlooks Marigot Bay and the Caribbean Sea from a different angle, houses a full-size gas BBQ for outdoor grilling, a large teak dining table with cushioned armchairs, and a four-person high-top table for more intimate dining or wine tasting while watching the yachts sail in and out of the bay into the Caribbean Sea. On the other side of the villa, the sunset deck - a guest favorite for gathering and drinking an adult beverage while watching the magnificent sunsets - has a teak conversation set and two additional teak recliners for relaxing while enjoying the incredible views of the sun setting over the Caribbean Sea. Rounding-out the decks, the bistro deck offers an intimate setting for looking at the Caribbean Sea from a higher vantage point, and the privacy deck directly off of one of the villa's bedrooms has two teak chaise lounges with cushions and a two-person hammock for relaxing while gazing at the outer bay of Marigot Bay and the Caribbean Sea.
The villa has a full-sized and fully-equipped kitchen with full-size refrigerator/freezer, oven/stove, microwave, dishwasher, and wine fridge, and smaller-sized appliances such as a toaster and blender. A large kitchen island allows for food preparation and congregating. The kitchen comes stocked with all cooking essentials to allow for home-cooked meals and also has a full coffee bar with a single-serve latte/cappuccino/espresso machine, a variety of regular and flavored coffees, and several kinds of sugar so you can make yourself a cup of coffee, sit on one of the villa's six decks, and watch the sun rise over Marigot Bay or set over the Caribbean Sea! The large window above the kitchen sink that looks directly at the Caribbean Sea almost makes you wish you had to do some dishes (but you don't thanks to the villa's housekeeper, Rose).
Villa on the Bay is conveniently and centrally located in the middle of the island, 70 minutes north of the airport, 50 minutes north of Soufriere and the majestic Pitons, 20 minutes south of the capital Castries, and 45 minutes south of Rodney Bay and Pigeon Island National Park. The villa is only a ten-minute walk (or three-minute drive) down the road to the quaint village of Marigot Bay where there are many restaurants and bars, a coffee/gelato shop, a food market, a barber/hair dresser, street vendors, rental car/excursion companies, the water taxi to the northern ridge of Marigot Bay and to Marigot Bay Beach, and the marina housing magnificent yachts and sailboats. Marigot Bay Beach, listed as one of St. Lucia's most-beautiful beaches, is visible from the villa and has chaise lounges for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Trou Rolland Beach is also a 10-minute walk (3-minute drive) from the villa, and it has a rock that adventure-seeking locals and guests love to climb and use to jump in the sea. The beach at Anse Cochon, world famous for its snorkeling, is approximately 25 minutes by car or 15 minutes by boat.
The villa has private parking for three cars, is fully fenced and gated for extra privacy, has carbon monoxide and fire alarms, cable/wi-fi, and an outdoor shower. Beach towels and certain pool/ocean swimming and snorkeling equipment are provided.
The villa's property manager, Will, lives only a few villas down from Villa on the Bay and is dedicated to providing guests with excellent customer service from before the guests even step foot on the island until they leave for the airport. He is a wealth of information on on-island transportation and attractions, and he is only a phone call away if there is any issue or guest need. The villa has a cook, Claudia, who services the villa's guests for a fee set by her based on the guests' cooking needs. The villa's housekeeper, Rose, provides every-other-day housekeeping services, and the gardener/pool cleaner, Imus, keeps the grounds immaculate, the gardens lush with Caribbean foliage, and the heated, lighted pool sparkling clean.
All year round, Marigot Bay is the home of dozens of gorgeous sailboats and yachts which choose our tropical fjord as one of the nicest natural anchorages in the Caribbean. The famous author James A. Michener has described Marigot Bay as “The most beautiful Bay in the Caribbean,” and Villa on the Bay provides what we believe is the most beautiful view of the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean!
