A perfect accommodation for visiting Marfa!
Our family has stayed many times at the Austinite Marfa. It is a wonderful location near the center of town and always clean and comfortable. Having the amenities of home while staying in vacation setting makes the holiday even more enjoyable. We recommend this home for anyone planning to experience the beautiful West Texas experience of Marfa.

The Austinite is fantastic
First, the decor is charming. Add comfortable beds, a lovely backyard, and a convenient location and this place made for a relaxing and fun weekend. I would return in a heartbeat.

The Perfect Marfa Cottage
We just did a weekend trip to Marfa with two couples and this was the perfect place to stay. It is walking distance from cute coffee shops, restaurants, and the main little downtown area, which was very convenient! It was so nice having a cozy cottage to come back to and relax after exploring Marfa and Big Bend. We had plenty of space and loved the outdoor living areas as well. Looking forward to coming back!

Wonderful cottage in Marfa!
We absolutely loved this house! Lots and lots of room and everything you need to make your stay perfect. Lauren was responsive and helpful, the house had lots of information about the town and was big - easily sleeps 10! We spent lots of time relaxing on the patio and enjoying the quiet with only the fountain making a sound. Easy to walk to almost all the Marfa businesses. Can't wait to stay here again!

We enjoyed staying at this property, especially enjoyed the backyard. The check-in info said the property had a dishwasher and printer. It has neither. We made other arrangements for the item we needed to print. The lack of a dishwasher was no big deal for us but might have been if we had a bigger group.

Sizable house in quiet neighborhood
House is a bit dated (too many old doors), bedroom doors don’t lock/ glass windows on interior doors, small washer/dryer, but overall a nice place and great location. Enjoyed it.

Exactly as advertised
This place is just a 2-minute walk from the county courthouse. It's well-maintained, roomy, and in a quiet neighborhood. The neighbors are friendly, and Marfa is incredibly relaxing. Lauren stopped by briefly for a quick maintenance trip, and she shared her family's history with the property. You can tell it has been maintained with care.

Great house to stay in while in Marfa
We have been to Marfa several times and love staying in houses. With grandparents, daughter/spouse and grandson (12) it's nice to have our own space. This house had 2 baths, 3 bedrooms and sleeping for 10. Kitchen was well equiped for us to have breakfasts. Lots of outdoor sitting. Covered car parking. Quiet neighborhood. Easy to get to observatory and Ft. Davis. Temp in house was very comfortable. No complaints.

Great place for families (with limited mobility)
We traveled with my elderly mother and this home was a perfect fit. She can walk, but steps are difficult. The home had a walk in shower and only one step at the entrance door! Perfect! The home is large enough that nobody was crowded and the living spaces are roomy. The kitchen was fully equipped for all of our needs. In addition, the location is walking distance (for those who are NOT limited mobility!) to the courthouse and several restaurants. Very convenient location.

The house was easy to find and the parking space was very nice. The landscaping and outdoor tables were very inviting. There was 4 in our party and we enjoyed the spacious bedrooms and common living and dining areas. There was plenty of hot water for us all to shower. My one an only complaint is the door lock. It took us multiple, multiple attempts to get it open and had to call the property manager for assistance. Detailed instructions would be good. Thank you, to the owners. We had a great time. well-appointed house conveniently located
The Austinite Marfa was a perfect place to spend several days in town. There was a snowstorm after we arrived, and the bedrooms were toasty at night and the house cozy during the day. The house is very comfortable and was a good place to hang out. There are TVs in both large bedrooms, and even the bunk beds in the third bedroom (double-sized on bottom) looked inviting. The kitchenware and appliances were good ones in excellent shape, the bathrooms had thick white towels, we had plenty of hot water (there is a theme here, but it was REALLY cold outside, freakishly so). I would assume that it would be as comfortable in the summer with air-conditioning. Lovely places to sit and eat outside that we couldn't take advantage of during the winter. Would happily stay here again.

Great house and Property manager!
We stayed at the house over Christmas. The "we" was my 85 yr old father, sister, my husband, myself and our dogs. The house is so comfortable and Lauren was on top of everything including a heat issue. We cooked a traditional Christmas meal in the kitchen which is very accommodating for cooks. The only downside is the dishwasher which is small and has to be hooked up to the sink. But the Cuisinart, pots, pans and other amenities were great! We loved the variety of outdoor spaces from firepit to covered porch table. The backyard was perfect for our dog family. The neighborhood is a happily walkable area for people and dogs. Brought our fresh cut Christmas tree and put in house easily. All thumbs up and recommend!!

Marfa Magic
The house was very comfortable and as advertised. We visited local attractions for hiking/exploring including Big Bend National park (about 2 hour drive) and Davis Mountain State Park about a 1/2 hour outside of Marfa. Restaurants are limited if you’re planning to eat out with most closed in Marfa on Mondays and Tuesdays. We used the gas grill at the house to make do. Internet was limited in the area but just fine at the house. Marfa provided a quiet, friendly and slowed down environment to remind us all what’s really important. We did go to the Marfa lights viewing station about 9 miles outside town on the last night and though we didn’t witness anything unusual, viewing the night sky full of stars and constellations in this whole area (including the station) is absolutely gorgeous. The Marfa lights viewing station had a pretty good size crowd and does provide restroom facilities as part of the structure if you’re planning to go. The Marfa Presidio county museum is another great stop for history buffs. Marfa is hard to explain- on the surface it’s a simple place loaded with history and very friendly people. All I know is I felt re-charged after experiencing it for a few days and would recommend it.

Charming. Comfortable. Perfect.
2 Blocks from downtown so there's a good bit a person can do without firing up the automobile. The Overlook Trail (5 miles round trip) is at the end of Austin Street and that's where I jogged every morning and watched the rising sun light up the Davis Mountains in the distance. But you likely are more interested in the house itself. Our party of 6 adults enjoyed it very much and would book it again without question. The house is clean and the beds are comfortable. Lots of art and style if you like that sort of thing (we do). Ice maker in the fridge--always a good thing in West Texas because you're going to want ice. When we arrived I was looking for an iron (it was included in the amenities on VRBO) but couldn't locate one anywhere. Sent the owner a text and within 30 minutes a knock at the door and an iron presented. That right there is taking care of the guests. Yes. See "would book it again without question" above. And so, person reading this, I'd recommend you book this house. Good luck and bon voyage.

Functional House, but very worn and in need of attention
Thank you for sharing your home. Proximity to nearby attractions was great, and the neighborhood was very nice. Covered parking was a plus. But for review purposes I must say the home is very worn. Kitchen cabinet and drawer knobs were all very loose and kitchen drawers were ill-fitting. Generally, finishes are worn. Furniture and kitchenware seemed like a large collection of hand-me downs from folks that didn't want the items in their own home. Most of the window blinds would not raise or stay raised. Outdoor furniture was an odd assortment of ornamental iron chairs with no pads (small pillows were provided on the front porch). Door locks barely catch, and a door in the kids room (behind a shelf unit) was found to be unlocked and the chain lock ripped from the door trim. Grills (propane and a very small charcoal grill provided) were not clean and ready to go - fortunately I brought my own. I understand it's hard to keep things maintained in a small, distant town - but this home needs a lot of TLC.
