Lovely cottage overlooking the sea
Had a lovely stay at Little Trevara. Would recommend esp. for 3-4 person family.
One observation about this listing: the property contains two units - Trevara and Little Trevara. The listing for Little Trevara (which this review is about) includes photos for Trevara. The photo descriptions clearly indicate this but only seem to be visible when viewing the photos on the Vrbo app but not the website. Wasn’t a problem for us but could see how it could be a bit confusing for others.
The cottage was nice, clean, and comfortable with beautiful views of the sea and if you stepped out on the nice first level patio you can get good views of St. Michael's Mount. Weather wasn't great for us at the end of October so we didn't spend much time on the patio.
The upstairs contains the kitchen, dining table, and lounge. It’s a nice open space that was really good for our family to spend time together in. Not big but comfy.
Main bedroom with double bed is a good size and looks out onto a ground level patio. The other ground floor bedroom has two twin beds and is a bit cramped but fine for kiddos.
The kitchen was pretty usable with a good array of utensils, crockery, pots and pans. Not atypical to vacation rentals - there were no basic cooking ingredients like salt or pepper. Not a complaint - just an observation for future guests.
Internet was fast and stable. TV was fine but no apps so bring an HDMI adapter to play from your phone/tablet or being one of those smart TV sticks (i.e. FireTV) if you want to watch anything more than terrestrial. Came in quite handy as the days were getting shorter and the weather was less than ideal.
The hosts were super helpful and very keen that we had a good stay.
We decided to not bring/hire a car for this holiday which worked out fine. The cottage is a 5-10 minute walk away from the the centre of Marazion which has a few pubs, restaurants and other things. Very comfortable. There are good buses that run on the road the cottage is on which get you quickly to big grocery stores or Penzance. Going the other direction is a relatively quick ride across to St. Ives.
And of course the cottage is super close to St. Michael’s Mount and nice walks along the beach.
During the October half-term, the crowds were relatively light but still a nice buzz to the town during the day. Can imagine summertime gets a bit mental with so many visitors!
Would stay again. Thank you to the hosts for a lovely visit.
