Mar de Plata good basic hetel
I paid $38.00 per night. Clean basic room with bath and a nice breakfast. Well located in a good area. Bus 221 that goes to other beaches the stop is just around the corner to the right. Makes change for fare. Going to South beaches on 221 is doable. Requires Libertad to Avenida Independencia and turn right about a block to 221 bus stop. P.S. Taxis are at Libertad and Independencia.

Lovely helpful staff
Booked 2 rooms. Our friends were given a high floor room as requested. Unfortunately they put my husband and I in a room on the second floor. Having asked if they could find us a higher floor they were exceptional in their efforts & we changed rooms before the evening. Great service, lovely staff, great room, great location. Would recommend.

Great location just across the street from the beach. Old building and the toilet seats had cracks on the paint and other defects. Hotel staff were great. Continental breakfast was sub par, but free. Not many protein options in the buffet.

Very Satisfied
I had a delightful stay at the Merit. The location was perfect right on the Plaza Espana on the ocean. The location was also an easy walk to the central plaza of San Martin. The hotel was clean and the room was spacious with a nice bathroom - no fridge but it didn't matter. The staff were most helpful in suggestion for sightseeing and how to negotiate the buses. There is an ample and varied breakfast buffet with just about anything you would want. I would not hesitate staying here again. Get a room in front overlooking the plaza and the Atlantic.

Upon arrival, we were assigned a standard room not fitted for a handicapped person. After discussing the situation with the Concierge, we were moved to a Suite on the top floor. Obviously, we had to pay the price difference but the new room was worth the higher price. The staff was very attentive and fluent in the English Language.

Nice reasonable hotel within one block of beach
Very moderately priced hotel that offered simple comforts for a weekend beach getaway . Rooms are simple but clean , air conditioning worked perfectly and most importantly close to the beach . Staff was friendly and attentive. Pleas is also very secure . I would go back .

DIRTY, NOT 3.5 STARS
This hotel is not what it looks like in the pictures and definitively NOT 3.5 STARS. Bed sheets are rough and old. I found hair in the bed, the restroom and even in one of the night lamps next to the bed. Curtains do not cover the whole window and can't be closed without covering the window A/C unit, so good luck waking up late in the morning or taking a nap during the day. Furniture is very old. Wood floors are in bad shape. There is no full shower curtain. There is a fixed (non-sliding) door which covers only half of the shower and the towels are very old too. It does has a fairly decent location, but not a great one either.

I went to Mar del Plata by myself but I find a lot of wonderful employees at the hotel. the breakfast was fantastic, the room very clean with a lots of comfort, the location perfect to walk every day with fantastic ocean view. I will recommend this hotel to my friends and tourist. Congratulation to everyone of hotel staff.

Great location
The hotel was in a great location next to the beach. There was also a great cafe on the corner. The staff was very nice and the rooms were clean. The rooms were small and the bed was very uncomfortable. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Overlooking the ocean
The hotel is right beside the ocean and public beaches, although a short walk from the centre of the city. The facilities are fine. The bed was a bit big for the room, but that was our only - small - criticism. In the off-season there are not a lot of restaurants close to the hotel, but the staff will direct you to others. One other plus: the hotel is on the bus route that runs along the coast road to the port to see the sea lions - if you can figure out the rather complex bus system of Mar del Plata.

This hotel was a mix between a hostel and a hotel. Not the best hotel I've ever stayed in but a good value for the price. The free breakfast in the morning was good. The staff at the front desk were especially nice.

Great location with a noisy problem
The hotel has a great location we had a ocean view room on the 3rd floor with a great view. You can sit at the small table in your room enjoy the Park and beach view,read a book or have a drink.This is great during the day but unfortunately at night the traffic noise makes it almost impossible to get a good nights sleep.The motorbikes are especially disruptive,if you are one of those people who can sleep through anything this is the Hotel for you.

Good deal for the price
The hotel was decent, clean, and in a great location, and a great deal for the price. I kept my windows open the entire time and even though the air outside was quite chilly it never made the room cold. I would stay here again.
