this hotel is a hidden gem when you actually consider where in the world it is. Very safe and plenty of security The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. breakfast was fresh everyday (but sometimes a bit cold) plenty of choice, the food in the restaurant was surprisingly very very good, excellent steaks and pizza
sandy the porter was a very nice helpful guy as was Wilker the operations manager who sorted out a hire car for me, translated the hire agreement as i do not speak Portuguese - very helpful man.Pool area was nice and clean with a nice outside bar. i will have no hesitations in staying at this hotel again and would highly recommend it.
Very nice hotel, location is very good and safe. Rooms were very clean and staff was very cooperative. The breakfast was amazing.

Business trip to Matola -
I stayed at the Matola Hotel for 4 days on a business trip. The hotel was clean and my room was valeted daily. Staff were friendly and helpful. The internet was very poor for the first 2 days of my stay, with multiple problems logging in which varied between being given the wrong log-in details, to the internet not actually working...not very good for business people. It did improve on my final 36 hours at the hotel. Breakfast was adequate with a mix of hot and continental choices. I had dinner in the hotel on 4 evenings and the food varied between a good pasta meal and a poor T-Bone steak which I asked to be medium cooked and it was beyond "well done". Without transport there is very little around the local vicinity of the hotel. Overall a reasonable hotel to use as a base but they really need to improve the internet if they wish to attract more business customers.
The language was a bit of a barrier but the staff was patient and accommodating. Kids enjoyed swimming until late. Everybody enjoyed free wifi for the entire stay.
The hotel is very beautiful but it's location is bad. On arrival we had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs without any assistance. When we arrived at the front desk we had to wait because they couldn't find our booking hence they wanted to give us a room less then what we had booked for and we refused. Eventually we were given a room, later we were told that we will have to vacate the room on the 31st since it was booked but it ended up not happening. We went out exploring the area's on the 31st upon our return we were denied excess to the parking areas and dining areas because there was an event. We ended up being stuck in our room on the 31st. When we were checking out on the 2nd again we were inconvenienced because they still had not sorted out our booking after 4 days. For 2 days our shower was blocked and not very clean even reporting it. I don't think I will ever go back to Mozambique again the country is very filthy and full of people who just want to rip us off our money all the time, the border gate was the worsed one.
Overall experience was not good. The food available is does not taste good at all. The shower was dirty. Drains are smelling. The staff does not understand English wich make it hard to communicate.
Its was not as good as i expected the personnel is so disorganized i was given a room and yet somebody has already check into that room. I was moving up and down from one room to another only to find people already checked in until we got to room 206 which was vacant. The bed was not that comfortable. Air Conditioning was great, the room itself looked nice. The guys in the reception could hardly speak english. The Restaurant was horrible its was all messed up we never ate breakfast because when there was breakfast there was no plates to dish up or vice versa.
The stay at the hotel was fine, the breakfast was disappointing, there were no sausages, bacon, variety of cereals, the bread was limited to just brown and white,
My stay at Matola Multi Hotel was disgusting to say the least. First fo all the bedding smelled, the phone in the room didn't work. Wifi signal was useless, the shower didn't drain at all. Dining hall was durty, food not too great, breakfast awfull.
