"A beautiful design "

"The staff wasn't friendly at all. There is a smell coming from the sewage in the rooms. Overall property is good located but roads coming to property is in bad condition. "

"Great hotel for a great price. One of the few hotels I’ve stayed in where the pictures do not do it justice, the view from our mountain suite was amazing. The room was clean, spacious, and secure. The room doesn’t have A/C which threw us off at first but this is typical for the area as the cool mountain wind was more than enough for a comfortable stay with the windows cracked. The area around the hotel is surrounded by forest so it was extremely quiet and relaxing, calm enough even to see some wildlife roaming freely through the property. The overall decor of the room and common areas was extremely beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, specifically the gentleman at the front desk and the gentleman that kept the bar in the evening and served us breakfast in the morning. I can’t recommend this place enough. We wished we had time to stay here longer but we will definitely be back!"

"Camino Verde is an exceptional place to stay. The shared deck area is a real highlight. It boasts views across into the cloud forest and is protected from the wind and mist by folding floor to ceiling glass doors. There is a wood burning stove, shared kitchen, free tea and coffee all day. The breakfast is exceptional and good food can be enjoyed in the Soda just next door. The decor is quirky and there are plenty of shared indoor and outdoor spaces so whichever room you choose, there are always options. Walkable into the centre of Santa Elena with secure parking. Highly recommended. "

"Don’t hesitate to stay at Hotel Belmar with your family. First time to Costa Rica and we wanted a hotel with a beautiful atmosphere- close to the cloud forests, clean and good food and drink. This is it- the hotel was even more beautiful on the inside than I expected. I love the small details like an actual tree to hold the sinks in the guest bathroom area. Our room was one of the basic ones on the first floor in the main lodge and it did not disappoint. The most helpful part was that the entire staff was so kind and going the extra mile. It made everything else very easy. We really enjoyed the yoga classes as well. Even kids are welcome at yoga! We booked a Guide through hotel belmar and saw monkeys and other animals in the nearby cloud forest and also did the El Tigre waterfall hike as recommended by the staff. It did not disappoint love riding horses up the steep hills. We slept soundly every night and could not have asked for a better start to our trip. Don’t forget to ask the hotel to arrange pick up at San Jose or Liberia airport for you. It was reasonable at about $200 And much better than driving those windy Mountain roads at night."
