Fantastic place to hang out in the pool, palapa or hammocks, great view of the harbor. Special thanks to property manager, Hermelinda (Linda), for her dedication to make sure we had everything we needed, fix what was broken and provide information on places to go and things to do. We did a day trip with her to Colima and area, excellent. Our unit was comfortable, nice breeze flowing thru with very basic but adequate dishes, utensils, pots and pans.
Sombra, her dog, was a constant companion every day, hanging out on the deck, in our unit or taking her for walks. Caretaker, Benito, was always around, cleaning the pool, cleaning the deck area, painting and helping as required. Having the Housekeeper twice a week was a nice luxury.
The long and steep hill leading up to our unit was challenging but easier with each descent and climb back up. the back trail on the left side was easier but tricky with dirt and rocky section and ample supply of barking dogs. Using the stairs thru the lower unit was easiest. Of course, using very reasonable taxis was always preferred.
The beach below is very easy to walk as long as you care, walked many times to Oasis for refreshments and meals. Check out their happy hour times and entertainment.
Great eating places, favorites include Pacifica Del Mar, La Forgon, Jack's, Oasis, and for basic cheap food and drinks, hostel at the bottom the the hill. A unique experience was Bar Social, by Soriano, you pay for drinks and food is free.
Local Saturday market is intriguing for finding Mexican crafts, cloths, jewelry or fresh vegetables and fruit. Major grocery stores in Manzanillo include La Comer, Walmart and Sorieno, very reasonably priced and cheap booze too.
Highly recommend day trip or two to Maleque and area as well as Colima to see the active volcano.
Pleasant surprise was the need for a dentist to make a night guard, Dr. Guillermo Brambila Meda in Santiago was very accommodating, funny and cheap, 1/10 the cost compared to home.. Highly recommended if needed.
