Lake Michigan Cabin + Hot Tub & Spectacular Views • Sleeps 8

Wake up to a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan right outside your window! Relax to the sound of gentle waves, peaceful walks on the empty beaches, and explore everything the U.P. has to offer. This one of a kind hexagonal cabin located on the sugar sandy shores of Lake Michigan will take your breath away. A true 'Up North' getaway for all your friends and family. Enjoy a private hot tub while you star gaze or enjoy the soothing sound of freshwater waves rolling in to shore. This cabin features 150' of private Lake Michigan water frontage and allows you to forget about all your worries in no time!

This home is 2 stories. The first level consists of 3 bedrooms, full bathroom, and a living room which opens up to an outdoor balcony overlooking Lake Michigan. The second level includes a bedroom, full bathroom, kitchen, dining room, fireplace, and living room that opens up to an outdoor balcony overlooking Lake Michigan.

The backyard features green grass that opens up to a gorgeous sugar sand beach right on Lake Michigan. While most of nearby beaches in the area are either pebble, rock, or limestone covered, our beach is completely soft sand which extends out into Lake Michigan.

Included in each stay is a hot tub, paddle boat, 2 kayaks (life jackets are included and must be used when using the paddle boat and kayaks), beach loungers, beach toys, and inside games for both kids and adults.

Attraction Distances:
Pictured Rocks: 1 hour
Tahquamenon Falls: 1 hour 45 minutes
Kitch-iti-kipe 'Big Spring': 15minutes
Manistique: 15 minutes
Fayette State Park and Historic Community: 20 minutes
Seul Choix Point Lighthouse: 27 minutes
Escanaba: 1 hour

Included amenities: Hot tub, 2 kayaks, paddle boat, life jackets, beach loungers, dishes, pots & pans, bath towels, beach towels, beach toys, kids and adult games, washer, dryer, TV, and bluetooth speaker.

Parking
Our property accommodates up to 4 vehicles.

Things to Note:
This home was built in the early 1990s and does not feature updated bathrooms or kitchen. We prefer want to be upfront so as to set expectations appropriately. If you are looking for an updated, high end property, then this cabin will probably not be right for you. This is a typical older 'Up North' cabin that lacks high end furnishings and appliances, but if you are looking for that 'Up North' cabin experience on Lake Michigan like most of our guests are, then you will have a great time. The deck is being replaced and the new deck will be in place on June 15. Our cleaners do a great job in keeping everything clean and the home is perfect for larger groups with plenty of beds, seating, drinkware, and games!

A maximum of 2 dogs are allowed and must be added to the reservation.

Property should be removed from market until repaired
Positives: The location and view were beautiful; a new deck was beautifully built; furnishings and decorating were nice; kitchen was well stocked with new appliances; bath towels were clean and soft; little extras like bath wash and shampoo; and lots of soft throw blankets for cuddling. Negatives: This house was poorly built and is now desperately in need of repairs and maintenance. Not safe. Terrible mice infestation with poison traps under beds. Heard them in the walls, saw droppings and one popped out in bathroom. Evidence of water infiltration everywhere. Water was pouring in under the patio door and leaking into the lower level during rainstorm. Stairs were way too steep with no hand railings. All but one exterior door to the deck were nailed or taped shut. Queen bedroom door was so badly aligned that it had a large gap filled with foam insulation, duct tape and nailed strips of wood. Metal strap under the new deck keeping one of the patio doors from falling into the house. Main floor was sagging badly and 2x4s were being used as support beams. Tongue and groove flooring had many gaps, up to 1/2 inch wide, where you could see through to the floor below-- no subfloor. Fireplace had a wooden hearth with evidence of burn spots from embers. Extension cords were run all through the living room, including under the patio doors where water was leaking. Basement had gaps where you could see daylight. The rotting exterior siding left gaps in the walls and around entry door.

Beautiful private beach
We had a group of nine and had a blast staying at the house. The house itself is old and very noisy when you walk around but the outdoor spaces made up for it. We loved the decks, hot tub, fire pit and private beach. It was a great location to explore the UP. Our dogs loved it too

Dirty conditions and ghosted by host
After a five hour drive from southern Wisconsin, we arrived Monday evening to find the place totally unready for new guests. For example: - There was a large circular wet spot soaked through from the comforter to the mattress on one of the beds - Cleaning supplies were left out (i.e. vacuum, supply bucket, rags) - There was a dirty bucket of water in the living room - The washer and dryer were full of laundry (wet stuff in the washer) - The hot tub was full of sand, dirt and grass - There was a wet & dirty towel laying in the middle of the deck - The previous renter had left a shirt and credit card behind, both of which were just laying about The owner had provided the number for the property manager, so we called that number first. The property manager basically argued with us and then begrudgingly agreed to check with the cleaning crew and get back to us. That never happened. We then sent a message to the host (Aaron) through VRBO (the only means of communication we were given for the host). We explained the situation and stated that we could not stay in the place in the condition it was in (who wants to sleep in a wet bed?) and requested a refund as we were going to try to find somewhere else to stay. The host did not reply. Three days later we received the standard check out instructions from the host. There was no acknowledgement of our issues or previous messages. I messaged again pointing out the issues and my prior messages. The owner NEVER responded. Simply u

Beautiful location for a restful vacation!
The listing photo of this property is very accurate regarding the view you will see! The deck area is at two levels with plenty of comfortable seating. The beach is quiet, clean and excellent for walking. There are plenty of water sports gear and beach chairs. Dogs can walk on the beach or take a walk on the lane through the woods that leads back to several different private beach properties. Upon arrival the house was clean and tidy. There has been some water/ice/snow damage to the entry door and the doors leading to both deck levels which I trust that the host will fix. However, for our trip it meant that we had to keep the deck doors shut and we could not enjoy the breeze or sounds of the water. The interior is nicely decorated with plenty of storage in the four bedrooms and plenty of comfortable inside seating. The dining table is very large great for large groups and playing cards. Plenty of kitchenware, plates and silverware. Great location for trips to Manistique, Munising, Grand Marais and Escanaba. Great locally owned restaurants. No issues that we needed to contact the host with and a local number was provided for a property manager in case we had any. My family would love to return once the door issues are resolved.

The house with issues
The location is great..wonderful view...was well stocked...HOWEVER IT NEEDS MAJOR STRUCTURAL REPAIRS THAT IF NOT DONE SOON WILL BE VERY DANGEROUS. There were only two doors out of six that were usable to the outside. The two usable doors were also in need of being replaced because of gaps. The decks are new but the wood logs on house around deck and other areas are rotted and screens all need replacing …they are held together with duck tape. They used spray foam to fill in gaps around most doors which made them unusable. No exit in queen bedroom to outside because of this. The main wood floor has significant gaps between some of the boards and you can see light from the lower level thru these gaps.. Sweeping the floor causes sand and dirt to fall thru onto beds and furniture in lower level. Walking on those areas cause floor to give making you feel unsafe. This house needs to be inspected for these safety issues.

We had a great time at this place. The view was amazing! The swarms of ducks and seagulls were very entertaining. We had one small issue, but the owners nicely responded and made everything right.

Beautiful location
This is a wonderful place to get away and enjoy the UP. Plenty of space for larger groups and the new decks are wonderful. We stayed in the fall and enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace! There are stairs to climb to enter the home and stairs to reach the main floor, not a deterrence but good to know if you have anyone with difficulty getting around.

We brought our dog as well. The cabin is in a remote area. Very quiet. Cleanliness was excellent. Everything we needed was provided except for edibles. Fantastic morning view everyday. Great sandy beach for the kids to play on. We all enjoyed our stay! Loved getting away for some peace and quiet.

Fabulous location on lake shore, well-suited for family with multiple living spaces. Outdoors was a dream with immediate access to endless lake and beach. Fabulous sunrise, a should not miss! Home is in-repair so not a diamond, but rough and tough. Communication was excellent with owner.

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY
We drove 9.5 hours for a quiet, relaxing, long weekend getaway & we’re so incredibly disappointed. The area & beach were great, but the pictures were misleading. As soon as we stepped foot into the house we noticed how uncleanly it was. From flies and gnats to spider webs in every area of the house. Only TWO working doors from the 6. The doors, including the sliding doors in the bedroom were sealed with spray foam & huge gaps under each door frame allowing any critters in. (The owner leaves bug repellent & critter bait for you to use yourself) It is very unsafe especially for families with young children as the upstairs floor feels very weak & there are several holes/gaps throughout the home. The hot tub is in a great spot over looking the beach but hasn’t been up kept as it was filthy (sand & dirt on each seat & at the bottom). We brought our 80 year old father & he had to stay downstairs the entire time and did not feel safe with him going up the stairs to enter the kitchen. Both bathtubs drain super slow which means you are in standing water throughout your whole shower. We would never stay here again nor suggest ANYONE stay here until major repairs are done!! I wish someone would have let us know as I feel like we were ripped off!! 😢
