This property was purchased 8 years ago at a state tax auction. On it there were 3 completely destroyed mobile homes. We have painstakingly restored this 12 acres back to its natural luminescent beauty and built this 24’ yurt, composting bathroom and outdoor shower.

This one of a kind stay offers a connection to spirit and beauty that is unparalleled.

This was built with our hands, we would love to share our hard work with you. The Space: Please read all the details before booking this unique stay, especially the **Experience Notes** section. We aren’t your average stay, but, if read carefully there should be no surprises :).


This yurt features a detached composting bathroom, an open kitchen/living area, a piping hot outdoor shower, a radiant and trustworthy wood stove, bustling wildlife, busy nuthatches and the soft coo’s of the morning doves. It sits upon 12 piney acres just outside of Mancelona, MI. you’ll share this acreage with my small construction company which you may see coming and going briefly to access other buildings on the property.

Along with that, the yurt holds a futon that’s perfect for a couple, a slide out twin bed beneath it, a twin bunk bed above it and a loft suitable for one person (or two very intimate persons). This creates sleeping space for 5 adults (with one couple).

The kitchen boasts an antique Griswold 3 burner, a mini-fridge with a small freezer, a full roster of American made cast irons pans, a Berkey water filter, Pyrex containers so that you can savor your left overs, and, much much more.

Also available at weekly rates are several canvas tents, including: a cabelas 10’x12’ cook tent, a 16’ diameter bell tent, and a 16’x32’ canvas tent perfect for gatherings and reunions.

**Experience Notes**

*This property is 100% private, but is close to town. You will hear noises from town off in the distance.

*the composting toilet will require you to add wood chips if you’re stay is longer than 2 days, shoot me a message and I’m happy to come and perform this task for you.

*the driveway is bumpy and steep, go slow and you’ll have no problems. In the winter, it will be plowed, but 4 wheel drive will be required to make it to the top.

*for more privacy in the outdoor shower, drop the vinyl window cover on the outside of the yurt! Unless you and you’re guests are into that sort of thing!

*we have access all the other buildings on this property without having a visual line of sight on the yurt entrance or deck. You’re privacy is secure and we will not initiate contact! That said, we’re all super friendly and chatty.
