"Lovely property in safe and quiet area. Direct access to beach, although we did not swim there, but very clean. Room was very spacious and comfortable although lacks natural light. Pool area is very nice with loungers and seating, some in a shaded gazebo. There are books and games available. Breakfast catered for us as vegetarians, fruit and cereals plus cooked options. It is fairly easy and cheap to take an Uber to Umhlanga Beach with its malls, restaurants and bars. The beach is nice and you...

"I cancelled on arrival when I saw the poor conditions the place was in and lost my whole payment. The reception area looked like a pigs corters. We got backrooms after we paid for rooms with balconies - 3x rooms. I demand my refund from Booking dot com please"

"The worst service we have ever received from a hotel/Bnb. It was a very hot 32 degree day and the air conditioner was broken in our room. We asked for another room when we we told the bnb was fully occupied which was understandable. We then requested that we get a refund for our accommodation because we couldn’t stay in a room that was so hot. The owner told us we needed to wait for her maintenance guy who was a 2 hour drive away, let alone the amount of time it would take him to repair a broken...

"They don't read check out instructions when booking with other websites. My check out is 10 am but they wanted me to leave the room at 9 am. Cockroaches were all over our apartment."

"Very noisy throughout our stay. Doors banging , furniture moving around in units above , people speaking loudly made it difficult to fall asleep , running up and down the stairs. Unit was clean and spacious but the bed linen needs to be replaced..very old. Hats off to the staff member who checked our unit on departure...I left behind a few pieces of jewelry and she was honest enough to hand it over to me. Scenery excellent. "

Wonderful staff

"I spent one night at the Hilton and chose that Hilton because it was close to the cruise port where I was joining a ship the next day. The hotel arranged a driver to collect me from the airport who was exceptional. My luggage was lost and the flight was late and he waited for me and was absolutely charming. The staff at check in were so polite, kind and personable. There wasn’t a single member of staff who did not greet me every time I saw them. The hotel is spotless. I was told by one member of staff it was an old hotel but my room was beautiful and big. I recently stayed in a 4 star hotel in london which was a third of the size and four times the price. As I had no luggage I was pleased to see the Crabtree and Evelyn products. I asked the advice of where to go shopping and the front desk sorted an uber for me. I had a lovely meal in the evening and the breakfast was good with lots of variety. To be honest I travel all the time and it was great to feel completely safe as a solo traveller and to be in a really spotless environment. Sadly as I had no luggage I couldn’t use the gym or pool. The other Hilton is near the amazing Mall I visited but I wanted to be near the cruise terminal and could literally see my ship from my window. The staff make the hotel and are a credit to the Hilton brand. "

"The hotel has an amazing vintage architecture. The building is amazing however it needs a some tlc. The reception ladies are great, they made me feel welcomed specially that it was my first time in Durban. The security guards was really good, very welcoming as well. I had a wonderful stay at the hotel with a nice sea view and it's very quiet, you get to relax.Just wish they could just could take case of the building outside, it really need some work. "
