There is a cook there called Benson, that for sure is employee of the year. Always does everything according instructions and keeps time as well.

We had money stolen not once but twice from safe. Safe had key not code and spare stays with owner. They didn’t have a spare key for our room supposedly so we had to leave the key if going out during day so the cleaner could come in. Both times money went missing when we were out and had the room key so receptionist said couldn’t happen there and must be “internal” which is impossible and I didn’t like his attitude. Either the owner or a staff member is taking money. Until this happened we thought it was a unique excellent small hotel which is spotlessly clean the breakfast excellent and the waiter Nzai works really hard.

Incredible place - a kind of camp casbah full of African antiques and canopied pavilions. The antidote to minimalism. Perfectly quiet - you just hear the birds - and thoughtful details like flowers on the sheets. Vast closet areas, bathroom bigger than my apartment. Recommend!

Ottima struttura: turismo e business
Si tratta di una grande villa con piscina, arredata in modo principesco, con 7 splendide sistemazioni per gli ospiti. La mia stanza, di dimensioni più che generose, arredata in modo completo e funzionale, era arricchita da un vivibile spazio veranda, oltre al libero utilizzo della piscina, del giardino, dell'area bar, ecc. La struttura, che si trova in "area Casuarina" (una delle zone residenziali migliori di Malindi, a poche centinaia di metri dal mare), è dotata di un proprio parcheggio interno, utilizzabile gratuitamente. Il Wifi è presente in ogni area del complesso. Possibilità di prima colazione e servizio ristorante. Possibilità di avere servizio lavanderia. Il rapporto costo/qualità è ottimo. La struttura è diretta dai proprietari italiani, ancorché il personale sia essenzialmente anglofono.

I was pleasantly surprised and recommend the hotel to anyone. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Breakfast is great. The service is great. The beach is 5minutes away on a tuktuk.

The hotel has a wonderful setting, quiet and comfy

Wonderful romantic, African atmosphere
We loved it from the moment we arrived. There are only 7 rooms and each of them has privacy. There is masses of space and all the furniture, rugs and curtains etc are carefully and beautifully selected from Africa and the other countries of the Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean. The staff are efficient and pleasant, the food is excellent and beautifully presented. One of the few occasions when the reality is even better than the website!

Sensibly priced and excellent service
A small, straightforward hotel with great staff, a nice pool and a simple menu. Food was good though and the size means you get great service. Not too far from town/beach, but not convenient if you are walking. WiFi slow and only in Reception.

A very comfortable small hotel. Off the beaten track, but only 5 minutes away from the main part of town in a Tuk Tuk.The food was disappointing, but the pool, antiques and decoration were great.

Grüne Oase, im Kolonialstil eingerichtet
Das Hotel wird von einer Italienerin geführt, die mit sehr viel Liebe dieses kleine Hotel eingerichtet und die Gartenanlage angelegt hat. Es gibt nur 10 Zimmer, die sich entweder im Haupthaus befinden, oder als einzelne Hütte im Garten. Wir haben eine 50 m² Hütte mit großem Zimmer, Bad und Ankleidezimmer bewohnt und hatten ebenfalls eine eigene Terrasse mit Sofa und Liegesessel. Es gibt weiter eine Bar und ein Restaurant. Das Hotel ist sehr klein. Damit sehr ruhig in privater Atmosphäre. Das Personal ist sehr zuvorkommend, fleißig und nett. Das Hotel befindet sich in der Nähe zum Strand (ca. 300m). Zum Zentrum von Malindi sind es ca. 2,5 km, die man aber problemlos zu Fuß oder mit einem Tuktuk/Motorrad-Taxi fahren kann.

Quiet, relaxing atmosphere
We really needed some down time, and African House gave us just that. The surrounding garden was peaceful and there were always staff ready to assist (special thanks to Mombasa). The pool was kept nicely, and the area offered sun and shade. Every afternoon 4:30-6:00 they served coffee and tea and snacks. The breakfast was abundant. The meals we bought were delicious, especially the homemade pasta...but we didn't eat here often because the prices were too high on their ala carte menu (ex. Spaghetti and meatballs 1400/ksh=$16.66USD.) We would definitely visit again.
