"Always lovely, relaxed and friendly "

"Lovely room, warm, clean and well presented and the breakfast was excellent. What spoil the stay was the constant background hum in the room, some sort of mechanical noise, pump or generator that made sleeping near impossible. Not ideal when you have a long drive the next day. It was not the room heating system as I turned that off. The other issue with the room was the height of the toilet, the only time I have seen toilets that low are in the local infants schools. It was a ridiculous height for a normal size adult "

"Fantastic place to stay. We used it as a base to visit the lakes and dales for a couple of days. Hotel/pub was in a lovely little village. We were in the Superior room which had a lovely view overlooking the river. Room itself was big with a nice comfortable double bed. Cleanliness was ok, room had clearly been cleaned however just a few marks on the wall. This didn't matter too much or affect our stay. Bathroom was a good size and clean. Could have done with some toiletries (no shower gel provided). Breakfast was fabulous - pastries, cereals and full English and great quality!! We ate in the bar one of the evenings, food was good and reasonably priced. Parking was free. Staff were nice, in particular Dave who was great and couldn't be more helpful!!! We will definitely return as there is so much more to explore in the area and would 100% choose The New Inn as our base. "
