Lakefront 4 bedroom retreat w/ boatdock/party deck, kayaks and outdoor bar.
A traditional Texas lake house with a touch of the Virgin Islands awaits you just one short hour southeast of downtown Dallas. The Cruzan Confusion is appropriately named after a traditional drink of the Virgin islands meant to temporarily "confuse" your mind from your everyday worries. Come pull up a barstool at the outdoor bar area that we have dubbed "Soggy Dollar North". Relax in a hammock, sit by the outdoor firepit, or grab a seat at one of our many seating areas on our expansive outside deck which is shaded by a canopy of beautiful trees. If you feel like being a little more active, take a paddle on one of the 2 provided kayaks, have a swim off the boat dock, or toss in a line. At the boat dock you will find mooring whips to keep your boat secured for your stay, a slide for the kids and a waverunner lift to easily launch the kayaks or store your own waverunners. The boat dock has a boat lift as well which may be available for use for an extra fee. Make sure to take in the amazing 360 degree views from the large party deck above the boat dock, especially at sunset. If you wish to enjoy the game while remaining outside, pull it up on the 50" 4K smart tv behind the Soggy Dollar North bar. Oh yeah, the property does come with a 4 bedroom house as well if you want to take a break from the outdoors. The kitchen and main living areas have been recently renovated and decorated with a light nautical/coastal theme which is carried throughout all 4 bedrooms. The house sleeps 11 with a queen in bedroom 1, another queen in bedroom 2, a queen and twin in bedroom 3 and a full over full bunk in bedroom 4. When it is time to eat, throw some food on the propane grill at the outside bar, or prep it in the kitchen on the new granite countertops. Enjoy plenty of seating at meal time including a farmhouse dining table that expands to seat 10-12 people. Views are in no short supply from inside the house as the entire wall facing the lake consists sliding glass doors. So get away from troubles and hustle and bustle of everyday life and come get "confused" at Cruzan Confusion!

Great vacation spot for a quiet, secluded lakeside getaway!
We loved our stay. We had a group of 8 who slept comfortably and had plenty of room to hang out while indoors. Highly recommend if you are looking for a peaceful getaway just outside the city!
We celebrated my mothers 60th birthday with our family and the entire experience was wonderful. Our family looks forward to booking another reservation here in the future the owners were very gracious hosts.
We had a wonderful time at your home. It was perfect for our need and enjoyed the view of the water and the pier. The outside deck and bar are great! We definitely would like to come back over the summer.
We visited from out of state for the total solar eclipse. The house has everything you could want for a lake vacation - kayaks, water slide, floaties, some life jackets (bring your own too), and a great Margaritaville bar for the full Buffet experience. There is a large grass area down to the lake, and a top deck over the water for tanning and sunset watching. There's a back bedroom that sleeps 4 and is great for kid-parent separation and accommodating naptimes and earlier bedtimes.
The eclipse would have been epic on its own, but getting to see it here with friends and family was truly once in a lifetime. Highly recommend.

Underwhelmed
I have to echo that for the price this property is very underwhelming. The outdoors and lake are beautiful. The property itself is essentially a renovated double wide. Old, musty, very used furniture. Uncomfortable. Paper thin walls. Spiders greet you in the showers. Thin old towels and only one roll of paper towel and one garbage bag for the weekend. Back doors are so warped that they barely open. Not what I was expecting and we have been to may VRBO units throughout the country. This place needs a renovation or a significant price reduction. My kids both said they’re stuffed animals smell like the lake house still, and not in a good way. Sorry.

Fine for a Canton get-away
We stayed 3 nights for a girl’s trip Canton weekend. Host provided good and thorough check-in information, though when I messaged a question through the app he did not ever respond. It wasn’t a big issue though, we figured it out. The house is cute, well decorated, beautiful lake view and neat lake access. The house is older and it shows in some things like the rattle in the ceiling fans, smaller rooms, the need for extra A/C window units to keep it cool, and the lack of outlets around the bathroom mirror (had to plug in hair dryer above toilet which was odd but we made do, not worries). The one thing that would cause us to not look at renting here again was the roach in the kitchen. Can tolerate spiders, roaches are an issue with me. Understand you’ll have more bugs next to a lake house but it was surprising to our party and we avoided the kitchen, definitely didn’t cook while we were there. We enjoyed the large dining table for games and the living room was comfortable. The tables outside were nice for sitting and relaxing the short time we spent on the deck. The check out procedures were simple and clear. Overall it was a good stay apart from the big issue.
This property was amazing and was the perfect spot for meeting up with old friends and all our children. The deck and backyard were perfect for hours of relaxing and space to explore and run for the kids. We grilled, we cooked, we listened to music and watched the outdoor tv. We ate on the outdoor table and indoor table with ease and we enjoyed all the lake views from the deck, the rooftop boat house deck and the backyard firepit! I would like to point out that the full over full bunk room is accessible through a queen room and the ensuite bathroom so it's not private.
There are only a couple of things I would advise future traveler's about. There is no bathtub, only stall showers, I know this is minor so if you are traveling with littles you might want to bring an inflatable infant tub. The major issue is that one of the queen beds was completely unusable. This was in a private queen bedroom so as an adult couple we quite literally could not sleep on it. It was like something out of a cartoon network throwback nightmare. You would sink 12inches into it and roll, the metal springs were so loud you could hear them from the living room. After several sleepless hours of pain, we resorted to the couch and living room floor. The next night we all drew straws and my 50+ yo husband ended up on a twin top bunk leaving the queen bed of horrors empty for a whole night of our stay.
If they replace the mattress I would say this is an absolutely perfect lake house getaway!
Perfect location if you are attending a wedding at Margot Hill. Great getaway - very relaxing with the beautiful lake views. The deck is so spacious and has plenty of seating. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. Beds were super comfy. We would definitely stay again!
The house, deck, and grounds were great. We really enjoyed our stay. Our stay was relaxing and fun. We cooked the turkey on the grill and all the Thanksgiving day sides in the oven. It was a great family get away.
This house was great for our family getaway of 4 adults and 2 kids. The outdoor areas were wonderful and we spent a lot of time outside enjoying our time by the lake.
Property was perfect for three families. Kids enjoyed the outdoor space all weekend long. The lake was tranquil - perfect relaxing weekend. Close enough drive to major cities to make a 2-3 night stay absolutely feasible.
The property manager answered text messages promptly and was pleasant to work with. The kids had a blast fishing off the dock (we caught quite a few while there!) and we all enjoyed the kayaks! Will definitely return.
Nothing like I expected for the price I paid. Houses are right on top of neighbors on both sides - very little privacy. Planned for a cookout of the very picturesque back porch to be ultimately disappointed…grill was extremely dirty had run to town to get a scrubber only to find the grill wouldn’t lite -just completely disappointing
