This grand stone Tuscan villa a short drive from Perugia is ideal for parties of up to 10 family or friends. Arranged over three floors and with a basement that can function as an independent apartment for two to four people, it offers great flexibility as well as panoramic views of rolling countryside and distant hills.

Casale Conte Jacopo’s elegance will charm, inside and out. Rich tones of antique polished wood, paintings, rugs and other decorative flourishes complement spacious, well-ordered rooms. The pretty gardens, with mature trees, a large, curtained gazebo and private swimming pool will eat up many hours, but you will also want to linger over dinner around the large table in the splendid dining room. Choose from either of the two cosy kitchens or rustic loggia for breakfast. The popular small town of Agello is a short walk away; while Assisi’s spectacular 13th-century frescoes may well tempt you beyond the many delights of Perugia. The only holiday squabbles should be over what to do next.



It’s difficult not to love this classic larger villa. Even at full capacity, people will happily get lost here. If you are not lucky enough to get the bedroom with the four-poster, you’ll find every room has something to recommend it – be that great views or lovely light and inviting places to curl up with a book. Writing desks also abound, perhaps because Casale Conte Jacopo lends itself to relaxed reflection. Sun-worshippers won’t be able to resist moving between the good-sized pool and romantic gazebo.
