It was my first time visiting and I’d love to stay again. Sadly they seem to be unavailable for short stays, perhaps to target students.
LIKES
I booked a single room but was given a free double room upgrade.
The accommodation was clean and tidy throughout.
The location. Under 20mins to Madrid’s most popular sites. Bus stops and subway stations within meters.
For 5 nights, the price per night was reasonable.
There are lots of places to eat nearby.
About 10 bedrooms per same floor, convenient if you’re going on a group holiday and want a similar setup to an air bnb.
The bathrooms on each floor are shared but there were two bathrooms and one separate toilet.
I loved the added facilities. eg the washing machine, kitchen storage space, fridge/freezers and facilities for warming/cooking food. I also enjoyed the double wardrobe with plentiful coat hangers for storing my clothes.
The blackout blinds gave me some really good sleep day/night.
DISLIKES
Need to get a piece of paper listing the room door code then travel 30mins from the property!
It’s located in quite a noisy area with a busy main road, bars, restaurants and a club underneath the building with people talking until early hours of morning. You will need to close windows and use earplugs to sleep well.
Bath facilities are shared, but for the price it’s to be expected. Additionally, the shower-heads only seemed to work in one bathroom.
The main door wouldn’t lock for most of my stay.
Some tenants were quite noisy at times.
