We liked everything at and near the property. It is centrical and everything needed was close by. What was disconcerting was that the property announced itself as a sort-of-hotel but not really. It never said it was a Hostal and the name on the outside says: "Castilla II" which was never mentioned when searching for the property. So it made it difficult to ensure that we were at the right place. Other than that, it was clean, the right size, and we enjoyed our stay there. Thank you!

I enjoyed the walkable distances to the Plaza Mayor being in contact with local people learning about crucial& historic landmarks. Having the taste of the food, tapas, paella, rabo de toro within walking distance! I highly recommended to families or "solo" travelers to be in the heart of Madrid, taking the metro is convenient and fast way to know the city.

I reserved this room because the advertisement offered laundry services. Upon arrival I was told they don't even have laundry and they were unwilling to make any concession. I asked for a small discount allowing me to go do my laundry in a public facility and they declined claiming that the information I got was false and they didn't know how I got it. I told them I would write a review stating my disappointment and they got very assertive asking me to leave. I called expedia and they claimed I should have gotten laundry, A small concession as I requested would have gone a long way to make peace and secure a happy customer. Also, daily cleaning is not available. Homeless sleeping outside of hotel. And hotel name is different than advertised; it is actually a hostel. Very confusing advertisement

This is very centrally located to plaza mayor and the surrounding area, and it’s less than a 5 minute walk from the Sol metro station! They allowed us to store our bags before check in, and the process was so easy!

The property gave us an opportunity to live like a local I suppose. I like the fact that it is in the middle of the old city, near beautiful streets, shops and churches. My family enjoyed the stay at the property immensely. It was a unique experience.

The last night at the next room people were shouting at 3:00 am and we could not sleep. It was terrible. I tried to call reception but they did not answer. I sent several WApp messages to the hotel reception so they could advice the people in the nearby room. Terrible!

Ubicación inmejorable limpio, cerquísima de todos los sitios importantes de Madrid. Muy buena presentación del edificio. Hay cosas que con poca inversión del propietario podría mejorar: ganchos para colgar ropa en el baño, una jabonera en la ducha (por favor) ganchos para colgar en la habitación. Podría mejorar con algo de decoración que nos pareció muy pobre y con otro baño extra sustituyendo el área de lavado -no se utiliza-

El lugar no se llama Loft puerta del Sol, es un hostal con precios muy altos que te hace creer que es otra cosa pero no lo es. La habitación es sucia e incómoda, mucho ruido y todo es antiguo hasta la ropa de cama. Los cojines estaban rotos y todo las sábanas manchadas.
