Nothing fancy, clean, walkable to most areas and close to train station.
The hostal was good and the location convenient, its walking distance to everything, we went walking everywhere, it was great!!!
The room was good but a bit small, we were a family of 3, two adults and a 7yr old and it was a bit difficult since the bathroom was also small and no space to put your things on, other than that it was a great stay!
The property was great and clean! Better than I thought it was going to be. The room was reasonably sized and cleaned every day. It was also quiet and there was no external noise bothering my sleep/stay! However, hotel neighbours can be heard if loud (though mine weren’t bad). My entry card didn’t work at one point but the receptionist fixed it within 2 minutes which is great. The area is convenient to access the rest of the centre and royal palace and other touristy sites. The one reservation some may have about the area is there are a lot of bars / night clubs / ‘xxx girls’ facilities.. but really those are only active very late and don’t bother you. I’d definitely stay here again.
This hostal was clean, quiet, centrally located and an all around great deal. There is a great DIA grocery store within a 5 minute walk of the property. The AC and WIFI worked great and the beds were comfortable. We walked to all of the tourist spots with ease.
Centrally located, next to everything you need in Madrid, only problem is that you have to check in in a different hotel and then walk with your luggage several blocks away.
The hostal is in the middle of Centro Madrid, very near to principal attractions, shopping and dining area.

Really nice staff, very convenient location and enough room size. Be aware there is no elevator in case you are bringing heavy luggage. As recommendation, the bathroom size could be improved, the one in the room is a glass door which was not totally closing the bathroom.
You have to check in at another Hostal named Hostal Lisbra first and walk 5 mins with luggage to this Hostal. Also Prado Hostal have no elevator so you have to lift your luggage to 2nd floor. There’s a phone in the room but when you call for service like hairdryer, you ask you to come to Lisbra to get it when your hair all wet.

The property is in a great location and the staff was incredibly helpful. There was a boiler problem and we had no hot water the first day, but the staff was responsive and offered to move us to a new location for free. Luckily the problem was resolved relatively quickly. It’s a very small room, only good for sleeping not hanging out in. The door to the bathroom is translucent and there are large gaps all around the outside of it. Very little privacy there, so go with someone you’re comfortable with!
It was quite cheap therefore we did not have high expectations. But were we surprised! The room and the bathroom were very tidy and the interior is well done. The beds were very comfortable and even though the windows face a busy nightlife street, the sound isolation was good so it didn't bother us much. Location is fantastic in a cozy area, with all the museums within walking distance. Lots of cafés and eateries nearby. If we come back to Madrid I would love to stay here again.
Air conditioning was not efficient.
Bathroom door is glazed glass which is not comfortable at all
Stairs are not so safe to go up and down
But a good value for money
It was a horrible experience. No elevator and the stairs are horrible for climbing down and up. No blanket supplied and we had to walk to the reception at night to the other hotel to pick up just one for three beds booking. Staff don't understand English when we were trying to complain.
