My first bnb experience and it was excellent. I was in Madison attending my niece’s wedding at Boma Lodge nearby. Breakfasts were enjoyable along with meeting the other guests. Owner Dan was especially friendly and accommodating, especially when I arrived late the first evening. I enjoyed our conversations and his generosity regarding our shared interest in music. Very clean and comfortable room with its own bathroom and shower. I will definitely stay at Hunter House in the future as needed and recommend it to anyone needing a comfortable bnb in the area. Wonderful owners Dan and Sallilee- thank you for a great stay on my first bnb experience!

Traveled with family and small children, Traveled with pets
I stayed here for one night with my two daughters and my two puppies.
Sally and John were more than welcoming and treated us all as if they had known us for years!
The room we stayed in was amazing.
We were treated like family and the breakfast the following morning was amazing!
John makes an amazing omelette!
If you like them spicy, even better!
The neighbors are very friendly and the neighborhood is very quiet and safe.
My puppies got plenty of attention from everyone!
Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend staying at Hunter House B&B
My dog, Chica, and I had a lovely visit at this delightful bed and breakfast. The breakfast was delicious both mornings. The house is lovely and is an easy walk to the downtown area. We will definitely be back!
Very nice B and B. Owners are quite accomodating and frendly. Hunter House is very clean and quiet. A nice place to stay. Breakfast very good. Among the best reasons to stay here are the dogs and the kitty cat.
The owners are great people who did everything they could to make my stay outstanding. The breakfasts were delicious, the room was extremely comfortable, and their pets were super friendly! The little extra touches were unexpected and very appreciated. Next time I go back that way I will definitely stay with them again.
The room was lovely, although several insects sought refuge from the cold in the first real cold snap. I think it was just a change of season event, and it shouldn't bother anyone else. The place was clean and it is a nice place to stay.
Our stay at the Hunter House was certainly pleasant. Sally and Dan were very nice and, most helpful with what ever we needed to know. Our overnight stay was good although I would suggest separating the door key from the lock from the outside of the door. There was a musty odor in the room. The bathroom sink was not cleaned as well as it could have been. The shower head is old and needs replacing.
In the morning, the coffee was hot, the breakfast tasty, the other guests were also delightful.
Thanks you Sally and Dan!
Sally was super friendly and very accommodating. We had a wonderful one night stay and wish we could have stayed longer!

Disliked: Staff & service, room comfort
Poor service. Not worth the money.
When I checked in there was no manager or owner available. A caretaker who had been into the wine attempted to help us. My reservation was for two beds but they claimed that the reservation was lost even though when I went to check out they were able to pull my name and details up on the computer. I ended up staying in the owner‘s suite which only had one bed which required me to sleep with my 13 year old son and not get much sleep. The room was over 80° and the windows are painted shut so you cannot open them. Also the plugs are not the three prong type and the power strip did not work. This required me to charge my phone in the bathroom on the sink. Breakfast was good. Upon check out the manager attempted to bend the chip in my credit card and accidentally cracked the card in half because she was having problem with the chip. Upon check out they took only $15 off the bill and I paid $140. It also appears that they leave the entry/exit doors unlocked all night long so I did not feel secure. I will not go back and I would not recommend this location to a friend. I had a very poor experience.
