The room was disgusting and smelled like mildew and cigarette smoke. All other rooms in the area were booked so I had no choice but stay.
I purchased a blanket and pillow from Walmart and slept on top of the hotel bedding using what I purchased.
I left my clothes in the car so they would not smell like the hotel.
I didn't take a shower because I felt like I would have been dirtier after being in the hotel shower.
There was a puddle outside of my door that was 3 inches deep. I had to jump over the puddle and onto the threshold of my door or my entire foot would have been submerged in water.
The non smoking room had a slight smoke smell. Management was very apologetic. While they were full so had no other room to move me to, they did come with a scent bomb which helped a little. Stay was pleasant enough. I occasionally have need of hotel accommodation in the Lynchburg area, and would stay here again.

Smelly, dissatisfying stay.
The lady who seems to run the motel single handed was very nice but that was about the only appealing part of my stay. The worst part was the smoky smell in a “non smoking” room. I’ve washed my clothes and Lysolled everything twice and still struggling to get that smell out of my things.

Buget hotel with the bare essentials
This hotel was easy to check into at the time I got there (ie early in the evening), but the office door was locked and had to be unlocked by the attendant. The room door was secure, but did not latch very tightly. The room was ok for cleanliness, but there may have been a couple of crawling things on the floor! The bathroom only provided very small bars of soap (no shampoo). I used my own stuff to make it through the three days. My room was only clean by a maid 1 out of the three days that I was there.
For the price that I paid I did not expect much so in that respect... the quality matched the price I thought so I was satisfied.

I showed up at the hotel at 830pm only to be told that my card had been declined, which is totally bogus seeing as I had just used it. I was told the hotel was going to charge the room when I arrived, but it was "declined" before I even got there. Nobody had contacted me or anything and they just gave away my room. The staff was not helpful and I was pushed away. Needless to say I will never stay at Scottish Inns for the remainder of my life.
