"We rented this property thinking that we were renting the whole house as advertised. It turns out that that this house is a hostel as per the sign out front and we were given one room. After some discussion with the owner we were given three rooms. The owner had not been paid by VRBO and I had paid VRBO one month ahead of time. "I spent in Aiden's court my first nights in Sri Lanka before moving forward. This is a big 3-rooms house with a full kitchen. Microwave, gas stove and fridge are included as well tableware. "We were met at the airport by the property caretaker Mr Welgama, who was extremely helpful and kind. The villa was overall a nice property but poorly equipped and maintained. On our arrival, we found the rear garden of the property was strewn with rubbish, old bottles and the remains of a bonfire. On examination, neither cooker in the kitchen was operational, there was no electric kettle or means of boiling water, and the cupboards were mainly full of rubbish and had no handles on the doors....

"Ok - where do I start! The “rooms” where not ready when we arrived- no one was expecting us in fact, I spoke to the lovely lady who owned the place and she explained that her rooms where usually pay by the hour (ugh). We had no choice but to stay here - one of the rooms had no lock and another had no bed! This was soon rectified but not to a satisfaction we would expect. There where no televisions in the rooms, no fridges (not even a plug socket!) one room didn’t even have bedding!...

Fabulous stay

"Fab, quirky place - each room is very different. Really helpful & friendly staff. Great breakfast, cooked to order and taken by the pool. Easy 5 minute walk to the beach and bars/restaurants. Lovely introduction to our first trip to Sri Lanka. Recommend booking their airport pickup - it was nice to know that at the end of a long flight someone would be waiting for us. Would recommend to others coming here."

"We had an excellent experience relaxing at Jetwing Sea. The pool was amazing and was adjacent to the beach which made relaxing by the pool/beach divine. The breakfast was awesome with a variety of options from authentic Sri Lankan to Continental. The wait staff at the restaurant were extremely friendly and accommodating. The room and bathroom had a very comfortable layout and the cleaning staff did a great job keeping things clean and tidy. The spa was heavenly and the spa treatment was extremely relaxing. The only opportunity for improvement is communication. The staff at reception seemed to struggle with communication and that made the check in and check out processes very tedious. Overall, however, we had an excellent experience and would highly recommend the Jetwing Sea who is looking for a relaxing vacation by the beach, away from any hustle and bustle. I would love to go back to spend more days just relaxing by the ocean and playing at the pool."

"This place is a hidden gem! Although the accommodations are not fancy, the property is spotless, the service was outstanding, and the food at the restaurant delicious! Additionally, I utilize the spa services, which were excellent. I would have no hesitation recommending this facility!"
