"We booked this hotel for one on our trip to the south of France and found a true gem of hotel. Super friendly host lovely pool and comfortable bed . "Enjoyed a pleasant two night stay here. With some advanced notice, we were able to arrive late and check in the following morning. The room was comfortable for my family of 5 and Herve served a fabulous breakfast for us each morning. Herve provided us with a map of Lyon and circled some places we should visit for a daytrip into the city. Upon our return that evening, we walked into the courtyard and were treated to a perfectly clear sky with hundreds of stars. Herve told us the following morning...

"Splendid little place high on the hill behind Chinas with huge views. Really welcoming, handy little private garden with our room, good pool at a comfortable temperature. Food was good simple family cooking but very well executed. We have eaten in more expensive places in the region but sometimes after a long drive something non-challenging is just what the dr ordered. Lots of wine for sale and the well stocked fridges in the room were at cellar door prices. What not to like? We will...

"This accommodation was a stop over for travel from east to west in France. We wanted to keep away from towns and liked the idea of a in house dinner and breakfast. Both were superb . Our host filled the evening dinner time with many interesting tales and points of interest, in particular wine. The friendly St Bernard was also charming company during our meals."

"This place would have been what it promised, a place of dreams: remote, rural, beautiful, wonderfully appointed, easygoing, friendly. BUT. After going quite a long distance out of our way to find this special place, being greeted by the friendly owner, moving into our room, and hitting the pool, the owner returned to tell us that he had double-booked the room, and we would have to leave. So we had to get out, get dressed, and leave to make another drive to find another hotel (sight unseen)......
